Since there is a lot of interest in the Crusaders & Saracens series from K&C I have started a Treefrog Resources page on that topic. I have just entered all the Osprey Books on the Crusades. Since there are an infinite number of books on military history I have limited book resources for each war or historical period to the Osprey books which are a good place to begin. I will next be adding links to web sites on the Crusades to the page, so if you know of useful and accurate sites devoted to the Crusades let me know and I will add them. Either PM me or provide a link here.

Randy

Here is the link to my beginning resource page on the topic

Very useful for me Randy. Because of Mark's (marco55) generosity, I have over 30 books on the various Crusades, many of them from the Osprey series. Your hard work is appreciated.

Thanks Randy for all you do on the photos and resource pages. Also, thank you Mark for my supply of books that I am enjoying. What interesting and generous people on this forum. Retirement is more interesting with this forum. John

Thanks and I really love the KC Crusade range

Hi Randy,

Thanks for all you do for us. Your work is a tremendous asset to the forum and I appreciate it very much!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

My pleasure, Randy.

This might be stretching your resources, but I noticed that Osprey has started putting several older publications together in one volume and giving this collection its own title. On the cover it does not disclose that the new book is a collection of older titles. I find this slightly confusing as I am not regularly keeping track of the Osprey titles.

I was hence wondering whether there was a way indicating on the Resource page that a volume actually consisted of various titles that had been published previously.

As examples, I may mention the Osprey title “God’s Warriors” which combines material previously published as Campaign 19: Hattin 1187, Warrior 10: Saracen Faris 1050-1250, and Warrior 91: Knight Templar 1120-1312, albeit with new images, and a new introduction and conclusion as well as the Osprey title “Knights of Jerusalem: The Crusading Order of Hospitallers 1100-1565” that I believe contains at a minimum the two Osprey volumes that were published previously on the Hospitallers.

I updated the info for God's Warrior on the resource page. I checked the copyright page for Knights of Jerusalem and the Library of Congress Catalog record for the book as well as the Osprey blurb on their site and it appears to be an entirely new book as there is no mention of previous content being in it. I also added another Osprey Nicolle book on the Knight of Outremer that I had overlooked. The Search Engine on the Osprey site is not very good and one almost needs to look through the titles 1 by 1:D
