The CTSC seems to be offline with some technical difficulities for the last day or so. Any one know what the issue is and when it may be resolved?

There was a very heated discussion that ended yesterday with several members, including an administrator , threatening to quit. Next the forum went off line

I just bought the DVD of V for Vendetta, one of my favorite movies . . .

I dismissed it, when it was released., but rented it a year later and was hooked..Excellent movie, wonderful story and very good acting..One of the very few quality movie translation of a comic/graphic novel book..Michael

It was like the 5th of November! :(

Jeff
I am sorry to hear that I think. November 5th 1605 was the plot to blow up Parliament but it didn't succeed and Fawkes was hung, drawn and quartered.
Or do you meant the 1916 Everett massacre in Everett Washington where political differences lead to a shoot-out between members of the Industrial Workers of the World and local police? I guess you probably meant the latter.:(

Well, I don't think I was involved, for once. Cos I was travelling at the time.
Will be a real shame if it remains offline.

Some time ago I heard the saying that Guy Fawkes was the only one ever to enter the house of parliament with "honest" intentions :D
The truth in that probably applies to many parliaments around the world

Having watched the story on the news the other night about them all
abusing thier expence claims [resurfacing tennis courts, claiming mortgage costs on a freehold home etc] that is probably very true . I,m sure our politicians would never do such things

Bill, all I meant was there was a lot of fireworks as you would get on Guy Fawkes night, but your other description might have been better :(

Very sad.

As regards to CTSF, I firmly believe that there lies in certain persons' character the need to be an anarchrist, to ferment disruption under the guise of free, unfettered speech..We can see them on any forum we frequent. They are usually the first post and the last post of most disruptive threads. The more freedom, the farther they stretch the boundaries of self regulation and personal discipline. Some of us respond differently to a troll like post..some challenge the poster, some ignore the poster, some support the poster, some join the poster and some quit the poster's forum..Had a post or two been deleted early, not one of these scenarios would have had to happen..This place might not be perfect, but sometimes ,meaning well is good enough to make this forum a home..Michael

That's not correct about being a communist labor union. They were leftists for sure and contained some great americans in their ranks such as Bill Haywood and Joe Hill. As a matter of fact, the Communists tried to infiltrate them but were not successful.

"I dreamed I saw Joe Hill last night
Alive as you and me
Said I but Joe your'e ten years dead
I never died said he"

Those may be your heros in the east but they are not heros out here, except to the far left.

We come at this from different perspectives but no worries. It's all in the past :)
