DAK 222 & Hanomag (3 Viewers)

Hi Joe - very nice. I've been looking at the Collector's Showcase 222 and Rommel's Staff Car. I've always been fond of the 222s. I really like the color/weathering as well as the authentic Afrikakorps emblems.

Both vehicles look fantastic - will have to check out the K&C Afrikakorps collection. I just finished setting up a small diorama this morning of FoV and Ultimate Soldier vehicles and figs. Love the Afrikakorps/DAK stuff!

Edit:

for comparison, here's the FoV Hanomag in tan:

go DAK!

I just saw both of these beauties at Sierra Toy Solider. They are beyond amazing and are definitely some of the best K&C pieces I have seen. The Flak 38 gun set is also incredible. The weathering and presentation is outstanding.

A 'Grey' one sounds like just the ticket mate.......but I really hope Andy and the team come up with a 'summer' version too.....something that could fit into Normandy and/or Arnhem{sm3}

Agreed Toddy, bring it on as well!

Tom

Thanks Joe and yeah, a grey version would be great but a winter white washed grey version would be even better! Can't wait to get one of those and have it next to my winter white washed grey Sd.Kfz 251/22 Pakwagen!

Tom

Tom ,

I really think Andy is going to release the Hanomag in all these versions...grey , winter white & Normandy...It is a must have for all those theme's...I am a big DAK collector but i am always into early german grey as well...So that put's me on the list for at the very least one more Hnaomag...It is as i had said a must add for any collector , since it is so iconic...

I believe when the Hanomag first appeared in the dispatches it stated that "At least two more variations will appear later in 2013", what those versions are and how many there will be is the true mystery.

PA ,

With all the lobbying for early grey AFV's , I am willing to bet the grey one is going to be released next...Then I am hoping for a 35t or 38t release...

Joe-

I think you are right, there is lots of "grey" armor on the horizon. I can tell from your other posts you are a huge early war fan, it is good to know I am not alone!

Joe-

The early war period is such a vast universe of possibilities, I really can't wait to see what K&C does with it. Not just on the German side but all around. The grey Hanomag would be a great start though!

PA ,

I am with you...There are alot of AFV's & Soldiers that can be done for the period ( 1939 -1942 ) / Polish , Greek , Romanian , Hungarian , Bulgarian , Finnish , Belgian & Dutch...FOB would be a busy line ! The DAK Hanomag is a great piece , so i am looking forward to it being released in grey ! After Andy responded to the thread i started on the 35t & 38t , i am optimistic about K&C apporaching the ( 1939 - 1942 ) period...
Like i said before exploring this time period is way overdue , & i know Andy/K&C have to make bussiness decisions based on what will sell...I think the demand is pent up for this time period...Time to see some light german AFV's rolling with panzer crews in berets...

Joe,

Right on! Your ideas on 35t & 38t were brilliant. They would go so well with the Hanomag. If the AK Hanomag is any indication of what the grey one will be like I think we are in for a real treat. The chance to do a blitzkrieg diorama full of K&C 'greys' is almost too much for my mind to handle!

I agree with doing a grey 38t and a grey Pz. III, but keep in mind that K&C has produced 9 other grey AFVs/vehicles that fit in the Blitz and a few winter versions that fit in the first winter of Russia.

That is a really good point. I just hope that they continue to expand on the early war items. Do not get me wrong, I love the new AK Hanomag and 222, I just like the possibility of it leading to other avenues. Plus, as a matter of fairness, despite a huge desire for more early war stuff, I am one of those collector's who can't get enough Tigers. I think I am simply a German armor junkie!

grey covers such a wide range of WWII from 39 to 42 and, in some cases a little later so, they cover quite a period and number of theatres. Blitz, Hanomag, and a number of AFV;s would be welcome but , a late war Zimm coated steel wheel Tiger would be a good release and, not done properly since HB.

Mitch ,

I would also love to see a Zimm coated steel wheel Tiger ! Just feels like the time is now for some early war grey AFV's since Andy has started the ball rolling with the grey infantry & 222...While we can probably say the Hanomag will be released in grey , seems like a nice oppurtunity to throw in a 35t , 38t , Pzkpfw 3 or another Pzkpfw 2...I would also love to see an Sdkfz 263 but releaize this may be to fragile with the aerial antannea...
Andy did say stay tuned in regards to my post about the 35t & 38t , so i am taking that as a positive , & see what happens !?

Here is a real 38t video , i found for those that may have missed it in my last thread !

Joe..

Interesting video. I agree that they should and probably will be made as it seems smaller AFV's seem to be the way that things are going. 8 wheeled RAD would be excellent and, I have the early K&C version which is great. Hope you get the 35t and 38. would you prefer the crew to have the panzer beret or other headgear?

Mitch ,

Thanks , glad you liked the video...I found it on youtube when i started the other thread , i think it's a great AFV...I saw one in person when i was at the Panzermuseum in Munster Germany , i got a fondness for it back then...But to answer your question , I would love to see the panzer crew's wear beret's...
Let's see what happens !

You and me both Jason! Just ask my dealer, he wrote "Tom and Jerries" on one of my delivery boxes!

Regarding early war Jerry armour, i am not hugely into this series but i don't mind some of it. If Andy does produce a grey Hanomag then i'll be getting one in for sure.
