Hi Ya Guys,

need another round of opinions from you guys.

what are your thoughts on the latest Figarti offerings -

the DAK panzer and the V2 command vehicle?

strong selling points or mistakes/irregularities?

ratings out of 5 for each?

thanks in advance!

sincerely,

nasirkasmani.

I would not hesitate at all on these; you might miss out if you blink twice. From what I have seen depicted I vote 4.99/5.00 on both. Best of luck with the collection!

Tally Ho,
Beaufighter

I have the Winter Panzer so I won't bother with the AK version and I have already ordered the Command Halftrack which is a must have for my V2 missile display.

You just can't go wrong with Figarti vehicles. I have ordered both. From the photos, both look to be 5/5.

Just gotta get the V2 command vechicle:), 5/5, like the positioning of the figures, and looks like a hefty enough piece

Not sure how many of the V2 command vechcile being made, there was mention a long while ago about only a 100 but haven't heard anything since ...if i is only a 100 I would suggest not staring too long and hard at it:D:D

Hi guys,

my thoughts -

Figarti has really pleasantly surprised me, their last few offerings have been nothing short of marvelous. Figarti's vehicles, in my humble opinion, to date, are the most realistically gritty and weathered in my opinion. There is a visible improvement in the figures' sculpture as well.

Since Figarti releases its 1/30 items, i have gone from peering admiring glances to a convert in gleeful anticipation at their future releases.

this is a major leap for me, as my funds are limited, and most of my items are K&C. the currency conversion and the ever depreciating US dollar makes it worse.

so, every item that i intend to buy, i will check and think about carefully before committing.

i bought the V1 and V2 series lot, and only minor but niggling issues with the winter panzer IV stopped me from purchasing it too. and after some consultation with some great folks here (thanks guys), i'm getting the Chevrolet too!

1) V2 command vehicle -

excellent translation of the V2 vehicle. Great originality and figure poses.

minor issues -

a) the back compartment of the vehicle seems small for 2 persons.

b) guy's head out of the top hatch seems a bit weird to me.
i will remove the head to fix this.

c) the driver seems (from pictures) small compared to the other figure.

my deduction - my definite purchase.

2) DAK panzer

excellent weathering. and accurate model for the Africa conflict. absolutely love the red bike (with moving wheels!)

minor issues -

a) track a bit close to the track guard (hopefully adjustable)

b) figures - i felt they are all a size oversized, and pudgy looking. Doesn't look like the young, fit and elite Panzertruppen.

my deduction - while i absolutely liked the DAK panzer, i hope Figarti will release a crew set (like the V2 inspection sets A & B).

And while the dark figure paint tones does not bother me, i hope in future Figarti's vehicle crew will be sculpted without parts of the vehicle attached to them.

cases in point -

winter panzer - MG42 attached to tank commander's hands.

Chevrolet - steering wheel attached to SAS driver's hands.

This makes it hard to make the superior Figarti vehicles to 'go' :) (self mocking) with the superior K&C figures.

whilst i hope this, i do not wish for Figarti to follow HB's lead and repaint their crew a more vibrant colour. I sort of like their dark and gritty tone.

I will patiently wait for the V2 vehicle and hopes for the winter panzer to be tweaked, minor glitches fixed, and re released under different camo and crew.

It is my belief, with the visible improvements shown in newer releases, by the time Figarti decides to make the 1/30 big boys - Tigers, King Tigers and etc.., we'll all be in some treat.

yours sincerely,

nasir kasmani.

Pretty reasonable when you consider they equal or exceed the quality of the Honour Bound platinum series, and are about half the price.

whilst the price is not cheap, i agree with Louis's assessment.

anyway Figarti produces roughly at least a release every 6-7 weeks, whilst HB roughly takes 8-12 weeks, and K&C every month.

When i arrange it that way, it makes a nicer resonance to my family. :D

I don't know, I think some of these prices are getting out of hand.

Here is just a simple comparison (forget brands.....just a comparison)

V2 LCV nice unique item......+ 1 figure $229

Nappy & his Generals.......5 Figures + Large tent + Table Set.

Just in a dollar for dollar comparison, say you wanted just the Nappy figure
you could easily recover your cost by selling other items.

With the V2 LCV unless its made of Gold......I think its $50 to high:eek:

Hi John,

in my humble opinion, your point is entirely valid.

As for me, my expectation of the product depends on the price too.

For example, when i purchased K&C, i expects some accuracy and proper scaling, but won't bother me too much if it's a little off.

But when i paid for my HB Gold edition Tiger, i was so particular to the point of being paranoid - correct colours, crew wear etc.. that it was small wonder how Ana put up with me those long 6 weeks.

Even then, i missed a decal, and have not forgiven myself since.

As for Figarti, i gauge there somewhere between K&C and HB - Their vehicles are closer to HB quality, but their price are closer to K&C (Only recently have the command V2 vehicle and DAK panzer exceeds $200. The Chevrolet and the Winter panzer were around K&C prices)

The 4 piece Figarti figures sets are still more economical at $99,even K&C has changed to a 3 figure set package at $85.Hb pegs their 4 figure set at $125.

While my staple diet is still K&C, I like Figarti's and HB vehicles. I cant afford $350 + extras for every HB armour so i have to choose HB vehicles carefully.

Figarti is a nice intercession between affordable price and quality, so i'll be on the lookout for more vehicles from them.

my 2 cents.

sincerely,

nasir kasmani.

Excellent points!

With gas near $4 and everything that moves by truck increasing in price

you have to expect the economy to slow down.

I change my answer to a 4/5 due to the prices, like Njja said, about $50 too high for both sets:(.

Guys, I could be wrong but I think there's Three (3) figures with the Command Vehicle. Driver, Observer with head through the roof, and an Officer climbing into it from the RHS.

i just realized that the handle for the V2 command Vehicle rear compartment door is attached to the German figure.

i am dissapointed with this as this means it restricts the figure and the vehicle from interchangeable displays with other sets or manufacturers figures.

Just like my prrvious post regarding the Chevrolet driver with wheels on his hands and the winter panzer commander with the MG42 on his hands.

i hope Figarti will refrain from these in the future.

It's more than trucking.

Bunker Fuel - Ships
Jet Fuel - Aviation
Gasoline - Cars and light trucks
Diesel - Trucks and trains

...and if you include petrochemicals pretty much everything we've become accustomed to in modern life.

We (collective we) must have had a proverbial screw loose to so blithely walk down the road of total dependence on a single non renewable resource.

Personally I think it is the Napoleon SL that is a bot overpriced. You get 5 figures, a table and let us be honest a bit of a circus tent at almost 200 USD.
I would have been happier without the tent.
