I don't see why people try and pick arguments here.I said this purely on my own behalf.I have dead and wounded in my collection because its real, its what happened and people suffered for our freedom. In my view its absurd to ignore this side of realism but get upset if a Tank is painted the wrong colour.

Also FYI not only have i talked to many vets in Normandy and told them i've taken sand from all the beaches as a memento but some have actually been with me at the time and had no problem at all in understanding it was by way of tribute.Just so we are clear.

Rob

Ditto for some of the Canadian vets. They understand the use of Juno beach sand is a tribute. It's like wearing a poppy on Remembrance Day or having a piece of the Berlin Wall.

We all choose remember and pay tribute in our own way,and I would not judge people on this forum.I have spoken to many Normandy vets both on the beaches and in London and in my experience they fully understand that hundreds of people every year take sand from the beaches as their own personal reminder of a sacred place, most of these tough old guys are not so over sensitive to take this as an insult but more a tribute, again this is MY experience of the guys i have talked to.

The more you elaborate the more I agree with you Rob; no matter if it lands me in the brig here.;):D

Each time the DD wounded shot set comes up on e bay it goes for high $ so they are obviously in high demand. I would love that set. So i hope k&c make more like that, ill be a buyer.

Thank you Bill, theres no aggro here anyway,me and Gazza are just differing in our views a little. Now if we want to really argue we could talk about historically accurate films!;)

The more interesting comment I have seen on this thread is Blowtorch's comment that he has seen a real decapitation. That's not something I'd like to see. I almost want to ask about it but maybe that's best left as it is.

I must say that caught my attention as well. I just didn't know what to say.

I have seen my fare share as well but they all have been on video. The only reason I viewed them was for training purposes. The tapes I viewed were either captured or left on a site on purpose to try to instill some fear or intimidation into their enemies.

I hope Blowtorch is referring to video footage he has seen also and not in person.

There have been videos of beheadings on the internet, mostly not very graphic. About the only place you could see one in person may be Saudi Arabia where I believe there are public executions. I think I remember an adulterous woman being beheaded there a few years ago?

The video I have seen is from the Russian/Chechen conflict. Very detailed very graphic. One in particular will always stick with me when a Russian Alfa member was decapitated in front of Chechen children. I don't want to go into detail seeing many would probably not like what was described.

There is something about decapitation that is different than other ways of dying. My thought on this is that the head is the essence of who we are. From the neck down it's just a body but the head has our brains (not all:D)our personalities, our souls so to speak.IMO.

WWII Russians.......... dead and wounded .................. YES PLEASE !!

and (slightly off topic) may we also have some more generic Russian figures such as "runners" charging with rifles and PPSHs. In my view K& C were a little "specialised' in their last Russian release.

How about ground crew helping wounded aircrew. Fire fighters in flame proof suits and RAF ambulance crew . Anyone remember the Airfix RAF K2 set?:)

Regards

RAMC

A very tastefully done set, was done by Britains from a painting by James Dietz called Strike Attack. This set goes quite nicely with K&C and is a full 1/30 scale imo. The figures make for a great diorama
