I know the answer is to either buy both or not collect them at all.

But, if you intend to get them, which set will you get first? Decisions, decisions...

1. Brit gun and Brit crew
2. Aussie gun and Aussie crew
3. Brit gun and Aussie crew
4. Aussie gun and Brit crew

British is the answer. Why you ask? Because the way they are slaughtering us at Cricket it's going to take a 25 pounder to stop their bowlers!

And...sorry guys...but black boots look better than brown:salute::

Well I guess after getting flogged four zip and most likely five zip you would need some reassurance but give in to the force Luke go with the brown boots laddie, you know you want to. {sm4}
Wayne.

What a hard question! Both are superb. We missed chances to buy the older British Gun for North Africa at least twice & regret it, and we feel that we have enough Aussies for that theatre of WWII. So we will only buy the British version to save a few bucks. However, the Australian officer may be a cooler figure & the boots look equally "british military". If you are a fan of the 8th Army, artillery, Australians and K&C though, I see no reason you shouldn't buy both! It's essential to have big guns to stop all those AK vehicles! Best wishes

Very tactfully done!:salute:: Both are indeed superb, it's just the brown boots.....nah!:wink2:

I'm sure the Aussies will buy their version and Monty's British lads will buy the British, that's where my money will go:salute::

Rob

being Belgian, which one should I buy ??????
guy:confused:
( PS I like khaki boots )

Get both, problem solved! {sm3}

Tom

For the undecided, K&C is doing a 3rd version with the figures having one black boot and one brown boot so they can be displayed "best foot forward" {sm3}{sm4}

I'm certain Howard must be behind all this. {sm4}

You can't do that, it'll look like the guy has stood in a Camel deposit!:wink2:

Buy either set, a pot of brown paint, a pot of black paint and a 4 inch emulsion brush and then you can swap over to your hearts content :smile2:

Terry,

Just before my Australian friends fly over and beat me to death with a Cricket Bat signed by the Aussie Cricket team........I should point out that I meant one foot brown would look like that but not both. Our Aussie friends liked their boots brown when helping to kick Rommel's rear area and that's fine by me!:salute::

Happy 2014 Terry

I don't think anyone will misunderstand the difference between a brown boot and a dung covered one. Here is a photo of clean Aussie WWII combat boots and dung covered ones. Note the clean Aussie boots are actually a reddish brown while the dung covered boots are more of a , for want of a better description, dung coloured. (Source: Proper Aussie Boot Care For Desert Troops, Howard Woods, 1941) The pamphlet actually suggests stepping in camel dung to prevent the boot leather from drying out in the desert environment and staying soft and supple. This eventually led to the development of the modern UGG boot.

Terry,

I know of the title of which you speak, but you may not have given it it's full title. I think it should read 'Aussie boot care and how to alienate people' :wink2:

.......Tom mate, I'm just trying to remember what colour boots the "Kiwi's" wore in the desert......probably a sun-burnt tan or faded charcoal^&grin

You could always mix the crews up as well, kind of like a 'Commonwealth crew'{sm3}.....but then Andy would need to produce a Kiwi cobber as well:salute::
