Decisions Decisions. Brit or Aussie, that is the question? (1 Viewer)

I don't think anyone will misunderstand the difference between a brown boot and a dung covered one. Here is a photo of clean Aussie WWII combat boots and dung covered ones. Note the clean Aussie boots are actually a reddish brown while the dung covered boots are more of a , for want of a better description, dung coloured. (Source: Proper Aussie Boot Care For Desert Troops, Howard Woods, 1941) The pamphlet actually suggests stepping in camel dung to prevent the boot leather from drying out in the desert environment and staying soft and supple. This eventually led to the development of the modern UGG boot.

I have been to Egypt and I reckon the stepping in camel dung method wouldn't have been a problem as the stuff is everywhere (especially around the pyramids!) and you have to actually watch where you are walking to avoid the stuff!!

Sounds an awful lot like land-mines to me and here was me thinking the flies and warm beer were the main problem, not to mention sand in ya undies{sm2}:tongue:

Which set to get... for me is easy - the one that is Retired first should be a good bet {sm4}

Get both versions, this way you will sleep better at night and not have any regrets about not getting the "Other Version" {sm3}
