I thought it was blaa not bad not good just kind of ....well blaa. I know SYFY does not have the budget of AMC or the other heavy hitters but there were a lot of stereotypical scfi characters. More should have been spent on character backstory and less on only OK prosthetic make up.
I would watch old Farscape episodes or Firefly instead if you want sci fi.

You could tell it was driven by Rockne S O'Bannon who also did Farscape which was one of my favorites.

I enjoyed it, not mind blowing like Farscape and the BSG reboot, but I liked it.

I will try it for a couple of more episodes but my first instinct is that this is not my cup of tea.Watched Farscape but it wasn't an all time favorite for me.Didn't care for Firefly,a western in space and this reminds me of that except all the aliens are here.I like my aliens like Predator and Alien.^&grin
