Hi,
First I'd like to say that Dave's collection and fantastic pics are an inspiration for any collector. Then I'd like to say that these theme is absolutely wonderful, and for me it's a little hard because I am also at the moment collecting Napoleonics and WWII aircraft, 1/72 scale. Fortunately I am not obssessed with getting everything ( that's a lie, of course I am ), and I go through spurts ( a Napoleonic spurt, then an Aviation spurt, then an India spurt, well, sort of ).
Besides Britains ( will they ever have such fantastic Durbar offer ), I have seen great ranges from Tradition, Marlborough ( thanks for the enlightening pics, Dave ), Fusilier, Beau Geste and the supreme wonder, BILL HOCKER.
Marlborough have a very extensive range, at least on their website, and I especially like their Indian Bazaar idea, civilian figures that are a joy to watch, they even make me laugh, and these civilians complement the military figures. That said, my very small collection is just composed of Britains sets, I have just made a Tradition order.
So here goes:

What do you make... of these makes? On Marlborough they look very good, but I prefer Britains more precise and realistic style of painting ( that's how it looks ), although they look like blending well. But if I lived in America I would probably give my priority to BILL HOCKER, expensive, but WONDER written all over it. Sometimes it 's best less but better ...
Durbar fans and specialists, talk to me and others, there is a lot to be said on this matter I guess...
