Delhi Durbar/Indian Army various makes (1 Viewer)

Pierre and Vamp,

I wish I could promise to take and post pictures to the forum. Unfortunately, I am not a good photographer and I would need some help in learning how to post the pictures.

However, since you are encouraging me, I am willing to get my camera and experiment with taking some pictures. If I am able to get some good ones that I feel are worthy of posting, then I will give it a try.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Very nice, what glossy figures are all about.
What are those Napoleonic figures in the background? are they Swiss?

Vamp,

I am soooooooo jealous! Those Hocker figures are wonderful! I want to say something like, "I would give anything to have those figures in my collection," but I really know how much I would have to give. Unfortunately, that's part of my problem! :D I simply want more things than my pocket book can stand!

Congratulations on your acquisition. They are truly beautiful figures. I'm glad you have them.

Oh! Golly! How I love that Hocker stuff!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Hi KV

Too echo Pat, Arrgh! I am so totally envious! I also really love the young attendants holding the ermine cape of the Viceroy, that is without a doubt a fantastic bit of detail that many would overlook. The elephant is of course stunning and done with the kind of care all of Hockers sets display. I will have to think long and hard about what to do if I ever get the opportunity to purchase any of these.

Thanks again for sharing!

All the best

Dave

Hi Guys,

My elephant came in today also! I was so motivated by Kilted Vampires pics I took one of my latest one. It is the Marlborough Set #D1 The Maharaja of Baroda on the State Elephant. So here is a picture of it before I make room in the display for it.

Enjoy!

Dave

KV and Dave, awesome stuff. Dave can you get Marlborough anywhere in the U.S.?

Hi Jrsteel,

I only know if one store where you can get Marlborough in the US. Contact Paul Herrmann of the Toy Soldier Shoppe in Wauwatosa WI at 414-302-1850. Or email him at

tsoldier@execpc.com

I dont believe he has a web site but he is a great guy to chat with and has a lot of neat items in stock. I picked up two sets from him last year that I had been trying to find for a while.

Hope this helps

Dave

Hi Jrsteel,

Dutkins Collectables, a U.S. dealer, carries Marlborough figures. Their web address is as follows:

http://www.dutkins.com/

They have a very good selection of Marlborough Durbar items. Log on to the Dutkins site. You will enjoy what you see. :)

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Pat & Dave thanks for the info. Boy Dutkins has a lot of Marlborough available.

Jrsteel,

You're welcome for the information. You are correct, Dutkins has lots of Marlborough. They also make it very easy to spend lots of money! :D

The Marlborough stuff is really beautiful. Be sure and check out the street scenes with all the vendors and entertainers. Also, the building facades are great. Kinda gets in your blood, doesn't it? ;)

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Dave, as far as I can see you have more for me to be envious. That is a beautiful elephant. Pat, thank you for your kind words. The Hocker set was 10% off at the show. His price usually includes 12, 13, 14, extra pieces. I really like all the elephants. I have another Britains one on the way.
