The figure with the sheep over his shoulders is from Dept. 56 The Good Shepard #59.59791 and the figure with the walking stick is from Desert Caravan #59.59914. Both are from the "Little Town of Bethlehem" series.

Link to the retired series that are often available on EBay, but at greater than retail prices - http://www.dept56retirees.com/littletownofbethlehem.htm

I saw these earlier today when I was looking at K&C's web site. I thought to myself that they were probably Dept 56. Talk about a close match to scale. I haven't had a chance to research Dept 56 figures but certainly have it on my "things to do list". These figures would certainly look good as non-combatives for my Crusaders diorama I am working on.

Here's what I have found out: The shepherd on the left by the ambulance is from Dept 56 "Good Shepherd & Animals" set #59791 (also came with other sheep, donkies, etc). The other figure by the stretcher is from Dept 56 "Desert Caravan" set #59914 (also came with 4 camels). The building is from Dept 56 "Caravansary Rooms of the Inn" set #59807. All of these sets were part of the Holy Land "Little Town of Bethlehem" village series and all have been retired for several years.

Hope this has been helpful.

Except the plam trees are off. They are from the pacific.

I have all of those.

I eventually plan to acquire Dept 56 sets to use as building facades within the "city walls" of my diorama I am building "The Fall Of Acre, July 1191". I will have a small area approximately 29" x 11" behind the city wall that I believe Dept 56 Holy Land buildings will look very nice and hopefully will add more interest than just a "blank" area. I would certainly like to know your opinion on how these Dept 56 sets compare in "scale" so-to-speak with K&C figures.

Hi Guys,

Some of you may have noticed that we are big fans of Dept. 56 and their now retired ‘Little Town of Bethlehem’ line. Over the years we have utilized many of their accessories and buildings for many of our Middle East scenarios and found them excellent backdrops.

And a small correction, Palm Trees are actually found all over the world, including Africa and the Middle East.

Happy Collecting!

You ought to see all the palm trees in the Bay Area!

What I am talking about is the palm trees in the back of the house are suppose to be in the pacific not Afika.

I disagree - I have seen those types of Palm Trees in the Horn of Africa - not sure on the Middle East - but in the Africa area next to the Red Sea - I have seen them.
