I thought it might be fun to start a thread comparing sets. Along with the change/upgrade some sets received over the years some figures were issued with a slight variance. I know Joe (the Lt) and Mike (1879fanatic) have some of these so please feel free to post any that you have.

I’ll start off with these two HZ 23 – A NEW TACTIC

Martyn & Lt.,
This could be a good long thread! And exciting too. I didn't even notice the difference between the sets until you pointed them out! And I know Joe has some older side-by-side comparisons floating about!
The only requisite is that you must have multiples of a set:eek: Can we include older vs. newer, and the original vs. the A series?

My Aide De Camp although I posted single sets they'll feature some difference and should also be featured as you note in sets 7 and 8 for example earlier set of 8 featured a different Zulu Warrior and the later set of 7 features a Zulu Warrior Wearing a red tunic and I'm sure you'll notice the dates along with the bases that were changes to the original and by all means include the old verse the new.....The Lt.

Nothing to add to the spot-the-difference thread, just wanted to say i like the newer scenic bases a lot better. When did Trophy fold? I thought it was in the nineties but that obviously isn't the case.

Joachim,

I was told by Len Taylor in an email I received from him on the 3 of December 2006 that he sold the businees to Ken Jackson of Maison Militaire. I know that Damian has been in touch with Ken a number of times and hopefully Damian may have an update. I understand that Ken was at the London Show last month that alll I know of at this time of what he's doing with the Trophy Line......The Lt.

Ken told me last year he has sorted out the moulds, but apparently all plans to release any Trophy stuff are on hold for the moment. Martyn may have more information.

This is the info I posted on Feb 2nd
"Hi Joe, Mike and Lance

I have had a long chat with Ken Jackson this morning and there is some good news and bad news

The good news is that all the Trophy moulds have been sorted, checked and labeled, none were labeled when they were at Trophy. They are safe, sound and perfectly OK to be used again. The original plan was to produce Trophy figures in matte and gloss.

The bad news is that because of a commitment to supply orders for a US Military Academy Maison Militaire’s do not have the capacity to produce any other figures at the moment. If I get any other news I will update everyone.

Cheers

Martyn"

Unfortunately I have nothing new to report, I have sent Ken Jackson several emails but he has not replied to any:(

You know, as much as I would love to see Trophy made again, in a way, I don't want it to be. The original will always be the original. Take Steadfast, I love the original stuff and RPWorld Models does a nice job, but it is NOT Steadfast, even though same sets. I miss the old maroon boxes, the vast amount of sets, etc. WHile I am quite happy to order an odd set here and there, I still cherish my original Steadfast. (of course, I am finding a few duplicates here and there......another story for another time, see ebay!)

Basically, on another note, it is nice to see Trophy try to retain some of its value as well as grow, they are wonderful original, unique figures, it is something of joy when you obtain a set! That is how it used to be with Steadfast, now, they are all but forgotten, b/c you can still order the sets, although to me, they are not the same.

Well it does seem to me that interest in Trophy is taking off.
Sets seem to be commanding fairly high prices on e bay.
I would not sell mine for all the tea in China but it is nice to know that they are valued.

The first three photos reflect the differance of the original figures that were part the first Commissary StoreHouse and the figures that make up ZS52 Hookie Leads them Out.
