Will be inheriting my son's cat from from a recent divorce and am wondering is the members have any special ways of keeping cats off of dioramas?

Cheers Bill:

I think that Capitolron, said KEEPER of the infamous "MAX-TOY SOLDIER DESTROYER", is most qualified to tackle this tricky topic.

Good Luck,
Beaufighter

I depends on the cat. My cat doesn't ever bother mine. Even when I have my trains up and running at Xmas time, it's no problem. :)

I had 3 cats and only one of them ever bothered the soldiers and this only consisted of walking amongst them on the shelves as the cat moved from one area to another. You will want to watch the cat initially to see if he likes to chew on the protrusions such as guns and cannon barrels. A friend of mine lost some tank barrels to his cats chewing. Good luck! -- lancer

Doors are a big help. I always close the door to my study so cats can't get in unless I am with them.

Hey Lancer,
Didn't think of the crewing possibilities. I think I was concerned most of the walking on them etc
Unfortunately, It's an indoor cat

It helps if your cat shares an interest in your hobby:cool:

Seriously though Charlie, our cat, is a house cat and never goes outside, he has never touched any of my collection, he’s too busy sleeping:D

Cheers

Turn it to your advantage...take photos of a diorama in which the Afrika Korps has to fight off the Monster Cat, and post them here.

Prost!

Tried it. It works!

See the complete and utter lack of interest shown by my ginger moggy in the background.

Either that, or he's distinctly unimpressed with the paint jobs, which, I suppose is fair comment. :p

...and if that fails, set up small scale feline firing squads to act as a deterrant.

I have a new kitten and she's interested in the trees but luckily I have them in one of those football display cases. She gets on that and looks down at them but can't get to them.Current score,Mark 1,Munchkin 0.:D:D:D

See, my problem is that one diorama I'm working on is 4' x 8' and the other if 2 x 4. Kinda hard to cover. All pieces not in the dio are behind glass or plexi.
She arrived tonight and will probably take awhile to explore while avoiding the dog who does not know she is here yet. Can't wait for that meeting:eek: Hmmm Maybe I could deputise the dog to keep her away

My cat never bothered the figures. He would walk around them but my Lab was trouble. I had a table downstairs and she would sneak down and eat my diorama's. Trees were her specialty along with two balsa wood bridges I made. I finally gave up and took down the 4x6 table diorama. Leadmen

And constantly on watch for the coming Trophy international night assault on Ches Martyn!
Unfortunately my terrier/lab goes after my paintbrushes and Styrofoam structures:( I get home and just clean up the aftermath...and use brushes with no handles!
