Thanks to those that posted pics of the Chicago show it was great to see, for those of us in parts of the world which don't have these sorts of shows the efforts of others who take time to report and post pics is much appreciated. But is it just me or do others agree there didn't seem to be much posted at all this year?. Is there more to come perhaps has those that attended return home and post their pics? I hope this is the case.......^&confuse

I think shows are judged by the coverage of the London shows that a group of brits cover so fantastically and, in such detail and as the show is in progress.

It was dissapointing to a point and, it was hard getting any up to date info I think Brad really did well replying as he did and putting pics up but, it did seem the few that came through that it was attended only two or three manufacturers.

Dissapointing more so if your not in their collector group

I was happy with the coverage a little is better than nothing.
Not so spectacular as before no big Figarti stun and awe and most of the releases we had seen before the show.

Same as my general take. No big splash items and minimal excitement generated, for whatever reason. Still betting it was a lot of fun for those who attended as opposed to those of us that could not. The lack of coverage, with the exception of a couple of our members, just didn't allow for any 'buzz' to get headway. -- Al

Must say I thought Jason's pics were just superb and everyone who took pics has my thanks for covering an event I could not attend.{bravo}}

Rob

Ive never attended a show (and not likely too for some time - 3rd child due in 5 weeks!!!)

I love going through all the pictures you guys take.

A big thank you to all that take the time to do it.

I want to see it all, not likely I know.

Prehaps they should issue head cam's to all the early bird people so we can see it all LIVE!!!!

Dave

I can only thank all those that posted pictures and updates on the show. It made last week also special for us who are far away!

I'm sorry (not being scarcastic) that the coverage wasn't up to snuff and will make a point to bring my camera next year. I think in past years Carlos has probably spoiled us with his excellent coverage of many of the manufacturers.

However, I think Pete, Jason (via Carlos), Marc (Beaufighter) and Red Baron did a pretty good job of showing what was being offered by K & C, Figarti and AeroArt. To a certain extent Figarti and Collectors Showcase provided photos of their upcoming releases that were available at the Show. What was missing, however, were photos of Britains, Jenkins, Frontline, Metal Shed and William Hocker, to name a few, as well as other rooms of interest. In addition, a few photos from the Dinner would have been good.

Hopefully, Carlos will be back next year and I will try to fill in the missing holes identified above so that something closer to what Rob, Jeff, UK Bod (Andy) and others do so well in London are replicated.

Hi Brad,

I only returned home from the show last night. I have some photos taken in the following rooms: 1) William Hocker, 2) Tedtoy, 3) Britains, and 4) Treefrog Treasures. Time permitting, I shall try to begin posting them tonight. Perhaps forum members can overlook my terrible photography in favor of catching a glimpse of the marvelous figures contained in these rooms.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Brad,

Thank you for your kind words. Life events have prevented my attendance in the last 2 shows and will continue for at least the next 2 months. Hopefully less after that.

I always enjoy taking lots of pictures with Steven and providing the copy. My plan is to go to the show next year. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Changing the subject abit. Andy and KC isn't going to have a post Chicago Show event at KingsX for local collectors in San Antonio this year. Helen and he are here but no event. I wonder what happen. This is a first in some time I think.

Carlos

Must say I thought all the pics were splendid, got to say as someone across the pond wanting to be there its very much appreciated what you guys do for us:smile2:

As for coverage of London, I normally start at about 6am until 12.30 when the guys drag me to the bar.:wink2:

Rob

Carlos,

Sorry you weren't there but obviously our families come before anything. At any rate, you were missed and hope to see you and Nancy next year.

Perhaps Andy's travel schedule to Florida prevented him from hosting an event this year.

Stay well.

Brad

I think it was the absence of any big items and not so much the "coverage" that was lacking. For example, I didn't see anything new from John Jenkins. Figarti had some nice items but no big ticket pieces as in previous years. Like to see those even if I would never buy them. The photos that I did see were excellent and thanks to everyone who posted. In the age of the Internet, it's going to get tougher for shows to provide an incentive to attend. The cost and travel to see items that are already available won't cut it in the long term.
