Dear All

TGM release notes a day or so early this year because of the London show falling on the 3rd, there seems no point in delaying when all would have been revealed tomorrow. I have also attached pictures of some of Januarys releases as these will also be on show tomorrow. However I have left a couple of surprises for January including ATW002 which is an absolute cracker in my humble opinion. Have a great Christmas and lets hope 2012 is a great year for everybody.

December 2012 Releases

SS027 8cm Mortar Team. A 2 man SS mortar team in action somewhere in Europe.

Both crew members look away as another round leaves the tube heading in the direction of the Allies! The A version suitable for in Battle of the Bulge diorama and the B version suitable for Normandy or Germany 1945. Not sure if there are many German winter mortar teams around so hopefully a pretty unique set for all of you into winter.

Limited to 200 sets in the A version and 120 sets in the B version, priced at $69 for a great all action set! Available now!

SS029 The Mine Clearers part 1.

An evocative set very reminiscent of WW2 – 2 man mine clearing team with an NCO recording his comrades work in the minefield but at a safe distance! The other soldier seems to have found something and has stopped moving for the time being, just to be sure!

To my knowledge German mine detectors not been done in 1/30th scale before and therefore another unique couple of sets in the collecting world.

The mine detector pole is detachable to avoid breakages during transit.

Priced at $64 for the pair, limited to 200 sets in the Normandy version and 120 sets in the DAK version. Available now!

SS030 The Mine Clearers Part 2.

Comprises a 2 man squad gingerly clearing Allied mines in preparation for the German counter attack. One man moves forward searching for hidden mines equipped with a standard issue mine detector. His comrade in arms lifts a once hidden mine with his bayonet. To highlight the shortages faced by the Germans we have ‘dressed’ one of the figures in a Wermacht jacket but also wearing SS issue trousers and helmet! This look was inspired after seeing a German seaman photographed wearing a Kriegsmarine hat, Heer jacket and Luftwaffe trousers whilst serving in North Africa!

The mine detector pole is detachable to avoid breakages during transit, for those of you concerned about breakages.

Limited to 200 sets in the Normandy SS version and 120 in the DAK version.

Priced at a competitive $64 for the pair and available now!

SS034 Battle Group Part 4. Designed to go with the mine Clearer sets these 2 infantry figures start their way thru the cleared minefield. An NCO waves a nervous Private forward as the path opens up for them.

Limited to 200 sets in the SS version and 120 sets in the DAK version.

SS032 and SS033 will also follow in January and will enable you to enlarge your Battle Group.

Priced at $64 for the pair of figures and available now!

January 2012 Releases

LOA001 Lawrence of Arabia. The British war in the Middle East seems to have been largely ignored by 1/30th manufacturers and I was keen to address this forgotten war! Starting off the range is a British icon who in some ways sums up the typical eccentric British academic of the period drafted into the army – T.E Lawrence! Of course Lawrence was a very unique character in a lot of ways not so typical of the English officer class! In this beautifully crafted diorama, Lawrence takes the surrender of a Turkish soldier in the A version and a German officer in the B version. I based this scene on the battle of Tafas where in the 1962 film Lawrence shouts ‘No prisoners’ as his Arab troops move forward to attack a retreating Turkish column. The Turkish force had recently butchered the inhabitants of Tafas and were beating a hasty retreat before the Arabs arrived. The only Axis troops to escape the following battle were 3 cars containing German/Austrian machine gunners. All the other German and Turkish combatants were massacred including 250 troops who surrendered but to no avail and who were put to the sword by the Arabs.

Limited to 200 pieces in the A version and 100 pieces in the B version this is surely bound to be a classic piece highly desired by collectors in the future.

Available in January 2012 and priced at $95.

Great War 001 (GW001) would surely have been a very worrying sight for any Allied soldier on the front line in France 1918. The Germans pioneered the flamethrower during WW1 and used it to terrifying effect. The flamethrower teams often moving forward with other assault troops, to clear the way for the main attacking German force.

The A version comes with figure wearing a gas mask and the B version with no gas mask. Both troops dressed in ‘Storm trooper’ outfits typical of this war to end all wars. More of these superb looking troops will follow in 2012, priced at a very competitive $32 and available in January 2012. Both versions limited to 150 sets each.

LOA002/GW002 comprises a dismounted British cavalry team manning a Hotchkiss machine gun. All British cavalry Regiments were equipped with 2 or more French Hotchkiss machine guns due to the lack of a suitable British light machine gun. These guns provided the extra firepower needed by these lightly armed troops, who were often far out in advance of the main force in a reconnaissance role.

The LOA (Lawrence of Arabia) version comes with Pith helmeted figures and the ‘Great War’ version suitable for the western Font comes with our boys wearing soft caps.

Limited to 150 sets in the LOA and the GW versions and priced at $69, available in January 2012.

NAPS001 RHA crew with rocket launcher. As you know here at TGM we love rockets and I wanted to create a unique piece for our first 1/30th scale Napoleonic release! The RHA were always my favourite Airfix Napoleonic troops purely for their fantastic uniforms and Tarleton hats! It therefore was an obvious choice for me who we would produce first once we started manufacturing in this era.

These beautifully detailed soldiers are in the process of loading up their Congreve rocket launcher. Not the most accurate of artillery pieces they could however cause havoc if scoring a direct hit on an enemy troop concentration.

Comes with 2 troopers, 2 piece metal rocket launcher and rocket on mounting pole.

The A version is limited to 150 pieces and the B version also limited to 150 pieces.

The B version will have different heads but no picture available yet.

Both versions available in January 2012 with lots more Napoleonic troops to follow soon afterwards!

Priced at $72.

That's all for now folks!

These Naps RHA Rocket Troops are superb{sm3}. I can't wait to buy them. If this is an example of the NAPS we are going to be getting from TG bring it on. Fantastic stuff.

DSC_0058.jpg

TGM has done it again a bit for everyone and as per usual didn't disappoint in the WW2 Germans and DAK,s im sold...............:)

I think that between TG and K&C will be an expensive start of 2012..i already pre-ordered the flamethrower, but i think i'll buy Lawrence too , and those RHA with rocket launcher..mmm...and then the Australians !!!

Some nice ideas but not overly impressed with the sculpting.

Some nice stuff in there especially the RHA !! and all for $72 as well.

Yes the price and quality of these figures just blows everyone else out of the water in my opinion.
I just hope there are many many more Naps releases to follow next year.
I have a list of suggestions for Tom as long as my arm so I hope he's ready^&grin
I've also seen the cavalry he can produce with the WW2 German stuff. This Naps list could be endless ^&grin^&grin

These WW1 soldiers look superb as well. ^&cool

Im wrapped TGM is making DAK,the mine sweepers as said by Tom are a first and look superbly sculpted, very original IMO.

That's what makes the world go round. Be pretty boring if we all agreed on everything.

A very good set of releases with some good ideas/poses.

The Naps and WWI will get some buying TG for the first time.

Saw the new and forthcoming releases at the the London Toy Soldier Show earlier today. They are even more impressive "in the flesh" than the pictures. I like the German storm-trooper with flame thrower which I will certainly go for. I don't myself collect Napoleonics but the the RA Rocket troop set was most impressive. I urge anyone who has a Waterloo collection to get this Napoleonic nebelwerfer!!

Just got my Mine Clearers and Mortar team.....Very well done.....Great theme, poses and painting. The pics do not do them justice....Alex

Does anybody know if more of these Germans with gas masks are being planned?
I'm ordering this one and am hoping it's not just a one off as I have a dio (well actually a photo) in mind.

cheers
