Dispatches are up! (1 Viewer)

I must say I love the look of all the new Arnhem releases, I want them all, now just got to wait a whole month to get my grubby mits on them.

I don't have a tank, But that Firefly is looking like a high candidate to break my Tank Cherry :)

Like the looks of the Firefly, but am a little put off by the track "junk" that seems to be coming back again. Is this a style decision, or did the more defined tracks pose a problem with breakage, etc.? The DD093 "Classic" Sherman doesn't have this problem, so it is somewhat of a step backwards in that regard.

I had stuck my operation market garden in the corner cabinet out of the way ....but after seeing the new sets I guess they will be coming out ...they do looking quite good!!!!!!!:D:)

Based on the photos of the Firefly, I'm not seeing that. Again, as with the Tiger, I think we need to see more photos before making a judgment.

Have not heard anything about track breakage being a problem. The photos of the Firefly tracks taken at the Westcoaster are more difficult to see than those of the Tiger. I find it difficult to say what the Firefly's tracks are really like, but they do look like they have mud on them. In fact, the K&C photos of the Firefly on their web site look identical to the photos of the previously released Panzer IIIs. I have the AK version and it definitely has small deposits of dirt on the inside surface of the bottom and the top tracks. I would have to conclude, it is a style decision.

This has got to be one of the best dispatches K&C have put out in awhile. I say that ofcourse because my favourite era's to collect are Arnhem and D-Day! Suprised to see D-Day pieces so early. My favourites are the Arnhem sets especially the wounded/surrendering and parachutists. Those U.S. D-Day boys look great, I really prefer the non-combat poses they are in, I especially like the medic. Looks like its going to be a very expensive month....I want them all!
The retirements are not too bad at all, not many and I've got Wellington so all's good. :)
Terrific month Andy, keep up the great work, I know we've got even more in store for us.
I'll end my post with a request, not because I'm ungrateful for what we've just been given but because I'm passionate about Arnhem. We need a sign with Arnhem on it and no self respecting replication of that battle can do without a Col. Frost personality figure either blowing his bugle or drinking a cup of tea. So I'm disappointed we haven't seen him yet...here's hoping there will be a THIRD drop of British paratroopers ( just like the real battle).
For all those who keep clamouring for an end to the Arnhem and Napoleonic lines I say :p:p:p:p. Do what I do....collect them both. How King Solomon of me. :D

Look - we all know that NAPOLEONICS out sell WWII - I am not worry at all by Brad's little remarks.

I am sure you heard about Andy's discussion at the Westcoaster that this was the last large release of Arnhem before the retirement of the range. One last hurrah for the Red Devils. Nice looking figures - simply doesnt sell well and must be pushed back for more popular ranges like NAPOLEONICS and the new so to be released Indian Wars Range - SEMINOLES ! :D

The Turks look very impressive, a couple of them are definately must haves. The Mexican cavalry looks very impressive. I was a little surprised to see D-Day this early, hopefully this isn't the only American release and we'll see some Big Red One stuff this summer.

Here is a quick view of the last three Shermans that K&C have produced. First being the "General Inspection" SL, followed by the "Classic" and finally the just announced Firefly. The "Classic" is by far the cleanest (don't know if there is any stuff in the tracks), followed by the "General Inspection" with a reasonable amount of stuff, but still otherwise well defined wheels, etc. The Firefly wheels seem pretty caked in dirt/stuff, so they aren't as well defined as the others. I have the "Classic" and "General Inspection", and really love them. I'm going to have to assume this is a style choice. Just would rather have had the "Classic" treads on the otherwise exceptional Firefly.

Really like the American Inf Figures ,especially the medic, great pose. The Arnhem radio jeep and the wounded paras will be a must for the Arnhem guys.Good to see some new Alamo, especially the good guys,Bowie,Crockett and Travis, great addition to that range.

It's interesting that no one posted about other recent dirty track AFVs over the past year. This time Andy drew attention to it by putting a lot more mud on the Tiger's tracks.

I have quite a few K&C AFVs including older ones and they vary from clean tracks to really mud covered.

I personally think the issue should be "does it look realistic " and each one of us will have a different opinion on "what is realistic".If you look closer at S33,you will see that mud appears on the lower track and inner wheels but the outer rubber rimmed wheels and outer upper track seems clear of mud, as previously said mudded tracks etc have a distinctive look and to me this does not have the look.It may be worth considering to keep the "Running Gear" clean and let the collector decide to muddy it up or not. There may be no definiative answer here it will always end in personal choice.

OMG, they will be retired...what a sad news....:D

Why let that get in the way of a good mud slinging contest sorry, it's been a long day and it's the best I could think of....

Simon there's no need for comments like that to just muddy the waters! :)
