Dispatches for March 2013 (2 Viewers)

While I'm not normally a stickler for 100 percent accuracy, the errors in the guns are egregious and I cancelled my FFL order.

Brad

egregious

1. outstandingly bad; flagrant
2. Archaic distinguished; eminent
[from Latin ēgregius outstanding (literally: standing out from the herd), from ē- out + grex flock, herd]

I assume that you did not cancel the order because the guns look distinguished!{sm4}

Jack,

As an attorney, I tend to choose my words carefully and in my view, yes, this was egregious.

I'd like to think it was negligent, hopefully not grossly negligent.

It would be an interesting conversation if you two blokes get on the grog together! ^&grin

Robin...

As I said the figures will be popular of that I have no doubt its just when you look at pictures or, when I do, these things spring into view.
Mitch

They certainly seem to have been popular, the FFL sets all sold out within 48 hours and the SFA Redcoats are 97% all sold as of today!

Kind Regards Vicki

I heard through the grapevine that dealers had a hard time getting these. Is that true?

Brad

Yes we had to reduce most dealer allocations unfortunately, the FFL have also now been removed from our website.

The pistol in the Sgt Majors hand by the way was supposed to be a 1908 Luger which would have been correct for the period upto 1916.

But to keep everybody happy we will give our Officer a French pistol in the next release.

Kind Regards Vicki

Vicki,

Thanks for your reply. I assume that for the next release I should order directly from the website to make sure that I get one.

Try your dealer first, so long as they order promptly they will get some stock. We totally underestimated the popularity of this release for some unknown reason!

Best Wishes Vicki

That officer could be packing a sling shot and that figure would still be kick a$$.

I wonder if TGM will consider doing another production run of said figures due to demand.

Here is to hoping.

Keep it silly.

I have ordered duplicates...I love them...the Luger doesn't bother me at all...the time frame seems correct...

It apparently didn't matter whether I cancelled or not as the dealer through whom I ordered it wasn't getting them anyway. I'll have to see if some show up on eBay and are not excessive. If I could get the trumpeter, that would be fine. Otherwise, will just wait until the next releases are announced.

Brad going for the "one off" in a set is tough dude. I don't advise it. Lol

If these guy's mix well with my WB Zulu collection I am in . Chris.

I just saw these new 24th Infantry figures. I really like the poses and the price point. But I cannot bring myself to order them becuase as some have already pointed out the rifles are really bad. I can't tell what they are supposed to be.
Also the helmets do not look correct to me. I have not seen these in person, but from the photos, the helmets look like they have a flared out rim on the bottom. Am I the only one that think that looks odd? I have 54mm Zulu War infantry, also
28mm scale, and the helmets do not look like these. I also have many reference books on the Zulu War, so I am using that as my guide.
