With dispatches drawing near, what do you guys think we might be getting in March?.Do you think we might be in for some 8th Army reinforcements.I was wondering that as the D Day Bren gun carrier has been retired and Praetorian's post mentioning 'little tracked vehicles',maybe we will get a desert painted version of this vehicle?.

Rob

I knew Rob wouldn't disappoint! :D I think there will be 8th Army releases, hope so anyway. No ideas or guesses however. The oft wished for Bedford would be nice though.

:D I start getting restless this time of the month Brad, get the feeling i want to spend some money!

A Bedford would be cool,maybe a Sherman?

I'll lay odds that K&C will announce a repainted EA Bren Gun Carrier and an EA Crusader Tank. (Oh, yes please). And maybe some more EA figure sets.
Cheers

:D YES, Indeed! Guys! My Scenario is possible: ---MKIII CRUSADER TANK-------BEDFORD QL TRUCK------M-3 'HONEY'(Light) Tank-----M-3 GRANT(Monty's) Tank------AEC/Humber Armored Car-------M-7 PRIEST------------ 6-Pounder Gun Team---Mortar Team?:D:D:D!

Well we had a pretty nice batch of Battle of the Bulge recently, so it is somebody else's turn. I doubt it's time for more Market-Garden, but I could be wrong. The Brits need some armor to deal with Rommel's threat. With the advent of the Tunisian Tiger, does that mean that US Tunisian troops are coming? The Tigers didn't fight in the classic Libyan/Egyptian desert battles, they arrived in response to the threat from the Torch forces and mostly fought them. The British forces still need armor - Crusader II (and III), Grants, Sherman II and Sherman III, Valentine, etc.

My bets are:

WC54 Dodge Ambulance
or
Bedford Lorry/Matador
or
M7-Priest

In Praetorian's post of 1/6/2008 under the thread "Next Armor N.Afrika Should Be..." he mentioned that one of the item in the pictures attached is already being made in several versions...I am zeroing in on the M7 Priest since this was used by both British and American armies and was used in N Africa (Sexton -Brit version w/ 6pdr gun) and DDay/Bastogne (105 HOW version).

Also, KC already has the existing mould, it's just a matter of improving the sculpt of the old M7 previously released

That's intriging Gary:

My guess...will not USA Tunisia but British Armor for sure. The Sherman II/ III and Grant are interesting choices.

It would be interesting if Andy expanded into the Tunisian theatre but I don't see that as happening, based upon his previous posts.

A M 7 would be interesting but I'm sure it would be a brand new sculpt as I'm sure the prior mold doesn't exist anymore.

British armor would be great as the only armor we've had was the Matilda whereas the Germans have had three Panzers (plus one on the way), a 222 and a Stug. Even general vehicles would be welcome as Eighth Army has only had a Dingo and Tractor while the Axis have had motorcycles, a De Mag, desert transport, a Greif and a Blitz truck.

Big bet is reissue of the M7.

Notice how the Chaffee made a comback last month!

Same thing could be said about the ambulance, maybe existing molds etc.

Anyway...

BEDFORD LORRY AND DRAGON WAGON

Hope reigns eternal.

Much as i'd love a Sherman/Bedford etc,it would be great to get an M7.I missed out on the D Day version so i'd really enjoying adding one to my collection.

I'm not sure actually,i may well be wrong but i think Andy may have had enough of D Day Americans for a while and may turn his attention to Brits and Germans.

We badly need new Germans on Normandy.

Regarding the Germans for Arnheim, any one known when it is suppose to come?

I think an M7 would be just dandy! I had the old DD-series version and it was one of the nicer vehicles from the "early" series of polystone. HOWEVER< with the work that Andy is doing now, he could do a "Priest" that would put others to shame. His tracks have gotten so much better, and the vehicles more detailed. The British got M7s as part of the build up before the Alamein offensive - that's when they named it the "Priest" and the nickname stuck. In fact the M4A1s and M7s that were sent to the Eighth Army meant that these were in short supply for the US forces for Operation Torch (that's why there was a battalion of M3 Lees still in the 1st Armored Division).

The M7 offers some neat possibilities. The British version could have dust shields (the fenders along the top of the track), "tin pan" helmets, 4-gal flimsy cans, etc. The US version could be without dust shields and have US stowage. Another point is that although there were three production batches of M7s that had detail differences, the same basic M7 that was introduced in North Africa was still in use in Normandy/France/Germany.
