I know this is going to stir up a bit with some people but lets not get too excited over the new releases. If you do not save Second World War [which I do] then there is little for the collector.

Where are the Napoleonic and Medieval Warriors, which I also collect.

Plus FOB has disappeared, as have the FFI.

Peiper007...

Fair comment, I suppose, I think it was the sheer number of releases that got me. The details etc remain the same but, it was a large release and a SL. I think everyone will get something they want. The FOB is sure to get more releases soon but, all the civvies were from that range if memory serves so, thats probably why there is none this month. FFI I have no idea and, they were not an appeal to me so, cannot say more.

I am sure that next month it may be the WWII collectors saying there is not much for them. Bit like swings and roundabouts

I in part agree with Mitch but WW2 has been a running theme for the last few posts.

Must admit I was "not overly excited" with the new dispatches....Some good Waffen SS poses with MP-40 guns nicely done IMO....May consider the pak anti-tank gun with crew....Not much else for me......Hoping to see more FOB and early war 1939-1942 in future

Nothing for me. Rather disappointing, actually. I collect the Medieval Crusades line. Maybe there'll be something of ineterest for me next month.

If memory serves me, the Crusaders were launched in September several years ago, my stock was direct shipped to the hotel at the Chicago show.

Also, again, if memory serves me, quite a few new items came out in September, again they were drop shipped right to the hotel.

Perhaps you'll get your wish in September this year as well........

Well I actually symphatise with the WWII boys ... there is such a wide selection of new goodies released that .. I will be going around in circles, just deciding what to get first. The proverbal kid in a toy store .. eh.

I am happy that the NAP Blackwatch are being retired .. since, if I am correct, they have been around longer than I first started collecting ... 4 years ago. I was equally relieved to see the AWI Redcoats go last month. It will be interesting to see how far longer the Scots Grey & French Grenadiers hold out.

No matter how popular & iconic certain releases are, K&C has to clear the shelves .. to make way for newer releases. So now I can look forward to the new AWI.

Hopefully .. we will see relacement NAPs & Medival before end of the year. Cavalry perhaps  ... K&C do make some of the best cavalry figures.

All the best

I'll 'second' those comments :)

Thanks, Warrior,

Well then, I better start saving my money for September. I look forward to the "probable" upcoming Crusades releases.

Hi Guys,

Piper 007 is definitely 100% correct on that one…

Don’t worry my friend there’s absolutely no chance of that on this Forum (or any other)… You can be sure that there’s always a merry little band of “Disappointees” and “Where is what I want Collectees” sitting around, just ready to pounce and deflate our little balloon!

Best wishes and happy collecting!
Andy C.

Well it all depends on what you collect doesn't it?. I am very excited (and I believe I have the right to be) because loads of stuff I collect (RAF,North Africa etc)has been released. I undesrtand many others are happy too becuase they also collect these themes. Now I fully understand if for instance you collect Egyptians, Napoleonic, Crusaders that you will be disappointed. However, what goes around comes around and in a few months time no doubt these ranges will get their turn and WW2 will take a back seat, and thats fair and the way it should be. But when it happens I will be very happy for those guys whose personal collections are getting reinforcements:):).

I think you should always get excited if you see items released that you really want. My friend Harvey Hammer who is a member here thought it was the best dispatches in months. He already has the wooden Desert Me 109 but ordered this one as well. I was so enthused that, in addition to my pre-orders, I ordered a couple of new books on the Desert War.

Brad, if you don't mind me asking, what did you pre-order and what books have you ordered?. Once I've finished James Hollands BOB I've got his 'Together we stand' to read which is about North Africa.

Rob,

On the K & C front, I ordered the Bedford, Austin and Me 109. I"ll catch up with some of the other AK releases later. The first two are very limited so I didn't want to be cut out and the third because I liked it :)

On the book front, I've ordered Stephen Bungay's Alamein and Martin Kitchen's Rommel's Desert War. I can also recommend some other books about the Desert War if you'd like. As a matter of fact, there should be some threads with book reccs on the Desert War.

Speaking of Stephen Bungay, Harvey told me last night that he had just finished Bungay's book about the Battle of Britain and said it was the best book he's read on the subject.

I agree, never too much RAF;)

But seriously though, although it looks WW2 heavy quite often, all ranges get their turn, Crusaders,Naps,ACW etc .As WW2 is one of their biggest sellers theres bound to be more of it, but hang in there, theres still four more dispatches this year yet:cool:
