Well you certainly are making good use of your limited space. That British bomber is a knock out piece. Like you, TCS find a spot in my collection, some very good items that they have come up with. The bane of our hobby, if it’s not space, it’s money. The worsening exchange rate here in Australia does not bode well for the future either. Robin.

Trying to get all the big TGM planes in is always the issue for me. A display case can only take their smaller planes - Jets, Stuka etc. Everything else I have to have extend my bookcase out and pray the cat doesnt jump on them and dedust them with a can of air every month. I think long term custom wood bookshelves big enough to take a 4 engine plane fully inside (as per above) is the way to go and then add some glass doors maybe. Need a bigger room first.

The Sterling is a monster and just added the Halifax in the middle recently. I finally have all 3 main British 4-engined bombers from WW2;

Just wandering, since you mentioned the rust, would yhat effect the metal tracks now appearing on some models ?

Carlos your displays look great too, love the lighting.

Stefan, lots of interest, and difficult keeping a cat out of anywhere, since their mission is to explore everything !

WOW you have some terrific bomber models and you're a Brave man to display them on those shelves, especially with a fiesty feline in house.

The Rust is Brutal here, especially for metal on my patio facing the river, but it's a reasonable trade-off for the view etc. However I wouldn't mind rust on my model tank tracks, would add to the realism

Thanks Rob, it's taken me several years to get that room sorted. I currently have a cupboard full of models to be sold, have over 70 on eBay ATM. I also kept the boxes for all my sets on display, they are a storage nightmare, I have boxes full of boxes throughout the house and in my garden shed. Sometimes want to do Wayne's idea and throw all the boxes in the bin

Matt......below are pics of my collection room. Of note, I used clear acrylic sheets that were custom cut along with clear acrylic dowels, essentially doubling my space inside and on top of my glass display case. I used a Weld adhesive to assemble the pieces and I like the way it turned out.

I also use wire wall mounted shelving as well as free standing wire racks to hold my diorama pieces.

Looks fantastic, Mark! You managed to display your uniform collection without overcrowding your display space. Sadly, I can't say the same. I am removing my uniforms from full and half mannequins and putting them into cases to save space. with 50 full and partial uniforms on display I could barely move in my collection rooms.

Thank you, Louis. I had to do the same with most of my uniform displays. There is nothing like a full mannequin display with boots and trousers, but I had to condense everything so I could combine my uniform and miniatures together in one room.

You've adopted some creative display ideas, those uniforms and acrylic cases are amazing.
You are another collector here that has used metal racks for dioramas and larger display pieces such as bombers (sfarrelly please note )

Last year I purchased some solid metal garage shelving for my hobby room, the wide/deep shelf options are excellent for large and heavier displays. However in my case I have to share my hobby space with a Queen size bed and wherever I placed that shelving there wasn't enough room for bedroom use. I ended up donating the metal shelving to my brother for use in his garden shed, so it didn't go to waste.

Thanks, Matt. My collection room is upstairs and these rooms have no attic space. It's called a scissors truss design which gives me added height when compared to a typical ceiling height of 8 feet.

The metal racks are the best. They hold a lot of weight and they are relatively inexpensive. The racks I purchased cost me about $160.00 USD each, and there are five shelves that are adjustable on each rack. They are very stable and ideal for miniature displays however, you'll need some sort of flat diorama base or a thin sheet of wood so smaller miniatures don't fall between the bars on the shelves.
