Dissapointed with K&C Dispatches! (1 Viewer)

And some of these guys don't understand why Andy doesn't take the countless polls and mile long wish lists into greater account in deciding what pieces to make :rolleyes:

I truly believe this excessive wishing and complaining makes it less likely that anything other than tried and true mainstream pieces get made.

Terry
Do you really think so? I rather suspect it has little effect one way or the other.

I don't think that's necessarily true Terry. He takes into account what people say here but he believes that people on this Forum don't represent his universe of collectors, with which I agree. For example, I've asked Shannon why in her newsletter she recapitulates the dispatches since they're published here and her response is that she has a lot of customers who haven't heard of the Forum or who don't read it. Andy doesn't believe that he can let the decisions he takes be ruled what people here say.

"tried & true" ..... thank you.

In retrospect, Is it possible that people saw the releases and did not realise WHY they were dissatisfied ?

Andy knows what he is doing. If he listened to us, being the fickle group that we are, KC would soon be out of business. -- lancer

I really wouldn't sweat it. Seems to be the norm that marching and other unique figures get released in the first batch- take the WW1 line for example. I am assuming that KC is planning on putting forth more than just a token effort with this line- my assumption is based on the fact that the Italian figures have an "IW" (Italian Warrior?) identifier. It isn't like they appear to be a subset all to their own (and, would have say an "aK" identifier) much like the Candian, Free French and British do in the DDay line.

Oh I don't know, I often see the KC section of the forum as a gathering place of highly competent businessmen who were just cursed with no artisitic merit to stand on their own. :D:D:D

:( I like the Semovente but it should have an Italian Commander with Tanker's Helmet and Dressed in Leather! Also, the Panzer III is Ak IS A repeat of the First Panzer III, of which I like Better, with a Crew! Mussolini should have been Dismounted and Saluting his Troops! The Italians should have gotten Fighting BERSAGLIERI, Infantry, with a ---47MM-Anti Tank Gun, ---a Mortar Team, and--- BREDA MG Team, and Motorcycle Dispatch Rider? NO M-13/40 Tank? I didn't see a M-PRIEST, or M-3 'HONEY' ETC! We should have gotten for AK a SDKFZ-232-8-Wheel RAD Armored car/w/ Radio Antennae? Its like going to the Dentist , Waitng and Waiting to get some Dental Work done sooner than later! When ANDY?

Did everyone forget about me ??? I have been begging for Italians for years!! Im moderadly pleased with the new releases! Especially the Mussolini on Horse! Though i think an AB41 Armoured car should have been made, and the proper tankers should have been made for the Semovente.. The Panzer III is nice, this can also be used for BATTLE OF SICILY and other Italian Front action, but you have to cover the AK isignia.. Now, my other big wish is to have German/Italian railroad action!! CIAO!!

I just look at it this way....if John is ever happy what is the point in K&C making toy soldiers anymore?? Stay ticked off John.....I like collecting too much for you to all of a sudden be happy with what is produced....even if its what you asked for! The day John says "Good job Andy!" is the day I bet Andy folds his tents and goes home......why would you continue on once JG is happy!?!?

I'd like to see the 3rd Romanian Mountain Brigade....not the 5th or 6th! The Group also had a communications platoon, a pioneer platoon, an AA gun platoon (4x20 mm), an AT gun company (6x47 mm Schneider) and a 75 mm mountain howitzer battalion. For transportation the Group had 60 donkeys, 60 sleds and 6 trucks. The donkeys should have historical accurate packs and markings accurate for donkeys of this time period and the scale better be right on please....I get mad when the donkey scale is off! Since they were in the mountains there are no need for any shirtless figures....CIAO!:D:cool::p;)

Yes, I really do. I believe the manufacturers are influenced by what people want, but only if they believe the wishers will buy and enjoy. It is bad news when an often asked for range is finally produced and then there is a chorus of complaints about what wasn't made and why the new pecies aren't exactly as wished for. We can't dictate to the manufacturers what they must make in every detail - this is a hobby too and they will make some pieces they themselves want to make. And they can't make everything at once.

I am thrilled to get the Semovente. For people who collect AK and missed the original Panzer III, they must be happy. I am personally not interested in parade figures, but later may get the "at ease" figure and the priest just because I like them. Besides, the Priest can be upgraded with some sideskirts and an overlay of desert camo :D:D

A very good point about the IW identifier. I saw it and thought "new series" but it didn't have any real impact until you pointed it out so clearly. It's a good bet we will see more Italians.

Must leave now and compile my extensive Italian wish list now that K&C is making some. :D Don't worry Andy - I will include infinite detail and colour swatches.:D

I'm with Brian on this one; if John was ever happy with what K & C makes, we are all doomed. You've all heard of the seven signs of the apocalypse, ie, the end of the world haven't you?

If not, I'll go over them; World War, Hurricanes, Floods, Earthquakes, Tsunamis, Rising Temperatures and last but not least, John Gambale liking something K & C produces.

Since we've had the other six, once John signs off that he likes the dispatches, we are all doomed, DOOMED I TELLS YA!!!!!!

Hope this cheers you up Rob, my favorite Uk poster ( I like all of you lads very much, but Rob is numero uno here at MMTS).....................

George you are indeed a gentleman (my British buddies may not agree, but what do they know!!:D)

If you ever make it to the London show mate the drinks are on me:)

The more people get, the more they want. Perhaps the dispatches should be cut back to every 2 months:rolleyes:

Personally, I was very pleased with this month's dispatches. Both the Panzer III and the Semovente M40-75/18 are absolutely superb. The Panzer III was the most widely used tank of the Afrika Korps so it’s great to see it back in production. Since the last Panzer III had a crewmember hanging out the escape hatch as did the recent Panzer IV, I think it was a good call by Andy to change it up a little. This one is clearly better – more versatile, more realistic weathered paint, and better tracks. You can always add stowage and riders later.

The Semovente is clearly a winner too. Designed as an assault gun for infantry artillery support, the first combat action of the Semovente M40-75/18 was with the SPG artillery battalions (Gruppi) of the Ariete Division in North Africa. The reliable and accurate gun proved to be an excellent anti-tank weapon and was used in much the same way as the Germans used the Jagdpanzer. When first introduced in 1942, the M40-75/18 armament was considered formidable in comparison to both German and British Armor and proved to be the best Italian armor in North African Campaign. Excellent choice for K&C’s introduction of Italian Armor!

John,i honestly mean no disrespect whatever here, but there are hundreds and hundreds of collectors out there of which you are just one. What makes you think Andy would ever produce something that a particular collector asked for.Do you not think Andy has his own interests and might want to make what he likes first and what collectors like second?.I'd like to see a Churchill Crocodile Tank, but if theres not one in September i won't be surprised!.Perhaps John here on the forum we think we have a bigger voice because we REALLY want something.I really want Jennifer Anniston to turn up at my door with a fistfull of K&C vouchers and a liking for bald blokes, but it ain't going to happen mate!

YES! Agreed

And look at the under $120 price of each. If each AFV came with 2 or 3 more figures at $32 each they would be around $200 apiece. The Semovente can be upgraded with the Italian officer with map figure if someone wants to.

Why not? K&C vouchers can't be that hard to get :D And have you ever considered her without the vouchers.? :D
