I was just having a little fun w/ some of the latest K & C figures today, and I think they are some of the best K & C has done. I took some pics to share as well. One of the figures is actually an older one, but it's another one of my favorites. Great job Andy and Co.! Thanks and keep up the great work!

Here's another shot of perhaps my favorite K & C figure...

This is one of the great figures that came with the new Snow Tiger- outstanding job!

This figure was released about a year ago or so, but still remains one of my favorites...

There was another new German Bulge figure displayed in Chicago that has yet to be released, but in the pics I saw from the show, it looked to be on par w/ the lot shown here. It was another walking figure, and I believe he had a bullet belt draped over his shoulders. Question for Andy, if he sees this post, are there any forthcoming plans to release this figure?

Thanks, Al! I'm really happy with these Bulge figures...they're a lot of fun! These are the 1st B&W pics I've taken, and I was surprised how dramatic they made the already dramatic figures appear!

Excellent pictures Joe. I like the Bulge figures and also the way the black and white pictures look. Great job.

Dear Joe:

Very nice photos of a WW2 K&C figure!

"Iron Brigade"

That is why I love K&C, the figures have so much character. Nice photography.

WOW! Thanks Mitch, Duke, Iron Brigade, Bill, Ed and Ray! I'm really enjoying these new figures, and it sounds like you guys are too:)!
I think the Bulge line is my favorite K & C range overall. Like Ed says, these figures just POP w/ character. Thanks again for everyone's kind comments.

Joe,
you did some excellent photos. The black and white brings out a very "real" touch to the scenes.

Any chance you can post a COLOR photo of the soldier next to the fire barrel?? I have been making some scratch built "fire" accesories and am interested in how the fire and smoke look in color on your display
Thanks

Hi Walt, I will shoot a few pics in color w/ the fire barrel. It's funny, but I showed my wife the pics I posted, and right away she said, "you should have posted that one (the one w/ the fire barrel) in color":). The fire barrel certainly does look a lot better ion color, and when I can carve out a few minutes...maybe tonight...I will post some pics. One other thing I neglected to do....I did not mention that all of the buildings and accessories in the pics are Build-A-Rama's fine products. One of the structures was a prototype I was lucky enough to get my hands on. As we all know, Mark is quite THE talent and a great guy. His creations really bring the soldiers to life. The fire barrel is another one of B-A-R's items. To the best of my knowledge, the fire barrels are not catalog items. I might be wrong, but I think they are sold at shows only. If you would like a set (they come three to a pack), let me know, and I'll grab a set for you at the Westcoaster coming up here real soon now.:D

Joe

Ah...thanks. They look great. The 3 barrel set up looks very realistic in a grouping like that.
Reference photo below I have been experimenting with painting then blending a wash of red, then orange then yellow as the flame moves upward, and then some very fine steel wool (black at the bottom with white highlites at the top) for smoke. Looks like you have used the SW as well. I think it really adds to the fire, especially when viewed from a few paces back

The best way to represent fire is to use a flicker effect bulb under a piece of crumpled cellophane with a few strategically placed "logs" on top. They can be obtained from dolls house shops or model train outlets.
