Dodge City Cowboy Band (1 Viewer)

Well shucks, pardner and a howdy-doody - them what has their arms and instruments on will be a-playin' - and don't much matter what they's a-playin' - you shore better applaud. It's a fully armed band!{eek3}:D

I'll be in the front row, hope they play loud, should drown out the cheering ^&grin^&grin

Cheers

Man! These guys only know but the one way to play pardner - and that's loud!. Yore choice where you sit pardner - but it's safer at the back - especially when that there lead starts a-flyin'. Why, last week - a feller from Tombstone got shot fer just implyin' that the Guitarist playin' feller wuz a-swivelin' his hips! Durn Tombstoners!!!! They don't call this place Dodge City fer nuthin' compadre - Dodge the flyin' lead!

Some cards of the band - shown below.

The percussion has just gone up in volume with two drums joining in! Whilst some of the details have yet to be completed - and two figures need arms to go on yet - this is the first time the band has all really come together. I'm surprised how just twelve figures can look so busy - but very pleased with how they are turning out - especially as I'm not really used to violins, accordians or guitars in a band. A couple more sessions should see my Cowboy Band ready to hit the trail. Thought you might like to see how they're developing. jb

Music lovers everywhere will be pleased to see that I now have all arms and instruments on each of my Dirty Dozen! The Dodge City Cowboy Band plays again! {sm4}

Not quite finished yet though - as there are still one or two touch-ups required on some of my new guys - and the final coat of varnish to go for all of them. They are however, almost there now. A delightful little set to bring together and paint these - with each figure full of the character of the real band. I'll do some more pics tomorrow - showing some different views of the figures - some of which are still a tad too wet to handle properly. They look as good from all angles - so I would like to show this later. I hope you like 'em half as much as I do - jb

Glad you love 'em Martyn - here's another pic - this time with The Lone Ranger and Hoppy at the rear, joining in with the fun. These are more figures from the makers of the band - White Tower Miniatures (UK) - which were also bought as castings, which I showed in an earlier thread. They are the same 54mm scale - so go well with them.

I've also turned a few band figures at different angles, so that you can see some of the other features of the band - such as side and rear views of some of the figures. A nice touch is the gunbelt for each figure - each one of whom, I have given a pearl-handled six-gun - and lottsa bullets - just like the real band.:D

Well pardners - here's another view from backstage of how they look. Glad you are enjoying them too. I can confirm, they are very nice to play with - though my musical contribution consists of putting on a CD - and sometimes singing along!:D

I can thoroughly recommend White Tower Miniatures for the Western products that I have bought so far - and will be going back for more - so keep yore eyes peeled for future additions to mah Western collection pardners - as I'm definitely hooked! jb^&grin
