Does anyone collect Thimble's? (1 Viewer)

Because i start to collect them. I already contact some other thimble collectors and i wish to organise a club (society) with one goal!
The goal is that all collectors in our club or society,....we put all ours thimbles together and try to beat the GUINES WORLD RECORD as a biggest thimble collection.
Read this:

I was thinking to join a lot of Thimble Collectors in a club. Thimble Collectors Club. Than each member will bring their thimble's and we will count them. Than we will call a Guines Book of Records that we have the biggest Thimble Collection in the world. So we will get a CERTIFIKAT from Guines Book of Records. Or we will lent our thimble's to one of us, so he can enter in a Guines book of Records. After that each member can take back his or hers thimble's. This will be set up onl yfor a Guines book of Records. After we receive the certifikat, we open an THIMBLE'S Museum, and people can come visit our (club) museum. They can see the Guines world Record Thimble collection (that is why we need certifikat), they pay 2 euro for a ticket, first we will show them a little sewing room, with old sewing machine, Whiler Gobelin on the wall, some old radio, some sewing tools,...so they get a feeling in old sewing machine factory (place) after that we will tak ethem to the room with Thimble's. We will put thimbles in the shelve (display) behind the glass, we will have metal thimble collection in one place, porcelan thimble collection in another place, plastic thimble collection,....after the tour is ended, we will tak ethem to our little shop, where they can buy a special thimble (for memory) with a logo type of our museum, or club,...some t-shirts, postcards,.....stuff lik ethat. We will also have a little terace where they can rest and drink coffe or eat fast food (toast, hot-dog, french frize,...)
We all (members) will be founders of such a club and museum. We need to find a small town, where we will contact the guverner of the town (major) and we will tell him if h eis interested that GUINES WORLD RECORD museum come to hi stown, so it will be a big succes for the town also, so maybe they can help us lent a room for our museum, or they can allow us build one small house (the museum). This is the short plan. I think it will be realised in at least two years.
First, we need to find enough thimble collectors and join them in our club!
Second, we need to count all the thimble's and decide it if we will go for this Guines book of Record as a club (society) or we choose one member and we lent him our thimble's so he can get the WORLD RECORD CERTIFIKAT. No matter what we will decide, the most immporatnt is that we get the world record certifikat so we can open the world record thimble collection museum.
Third, with the world record certifikat we find the place for our museum and we open the museum for tourist, so our thimbles can be admired by mass population. So all members can display their collection and show them to the world.

British song birds mainly sculptures from country artists etc. I started originaly in order to help my children identify the birds that come to our garden feeders.
The bells belong to my wife.

Somehow, I just knew that the words Ales, collect and thimbles would somehow equal "museum".

do you have any investors lined up for this venture? i would help but my thumb just can't take the abuse. :wink2:

Well, right now i am in th emiddle of negotiations with some fellow collectors from all over the world (Spain,Australia,...) so i am waiting for their reply's.
There is not really much to think about.
Look at the thimbles as a STOCK's, like a share holders,...because i find a lot of collectors they have thimbles from 200-4000+ not even one of them are strong enough to beat the Guines world record,...but if we put our thimbles together maybe we will be strong enough!
Than after we (or on eof us) get this world record, than we can talk about the museum, the caffe or fast food restaurat (or stand) that go allong,....we have time, we will go with "baby steps".
I am also aware that this Thimble collection i snot immportant in big towns such is New York,London,Paris,....because there are so many other more interesting stuff to see and visit,....but in on esmall town, where nothing is hapened, i am sure we can make a deal with the guverner (the major) and maybe the town will support us with a place(building, land,...) so we can bring our WORLD RECORD COLLECTION to THEIR town. It will put THEIR town on the map! It will bring tourist to THEIR town, it will be an atraction for THEIR town,...and once we have the world record certifikat in our hands, we will search for that town, and take the best offer we will get.
Every collector is free to take,sale or what ever he (or she) wannt to do with her or his thimbles, from the museum ANYTIME she or he wannts.
So if you hav ethimble's or know anyone that he owned them, please tell him about this project!
