Anybody ever seen this one?

Found in the basement in a box with some crude unidentified boxers.

Well I will say Tom that I wish I had boxes like this in my basement!

I dont know exactly who did this one but it could be helpful to see some photos of the soldiers that were in the box with it. I usually have a better idea of the maker when I see the soldiers because the guns can look a lot alike. Now if this one had a balck carriage and was a little more refined I would have said Trophy but their Dragon Gun was a little more detailed. Still it must be fun opening boxes with things like this in them.

Hi Dave, it was by itself, really, the boxers that were with it, were more castings and not nearly the same paint/detail. Agree not Trophy, got that one! Just not sure who did this one.

A completely WAG is that the maker might be East of India. They do a series on the Boxer Rebellion, and I kinda half remember seeming something like this from them.

Style wise possibly, but EOI never got around to doing a dragon gun, so no go there! Thanks though,

Tom

Hi Again,

I think it could have been done by Reeves in the early 1990s as either a Boxer Rebellion or Taiping Rebellion set. I found some of their gunners and an officer standing by looking authoritarian that seem to fit the style of paint for the this gun. Not sure but the Baron is pretty well informed when it comes to Reeves so he might be able to confirm this.

Hi Dave, I have the entire Reeves line except maybe 5 figures and I agree, it is done in the same style. Funny, that is where I was going to display it!

Good eye!

Hi Tom,

Glad I could help. Can you post a photo of the Reeves figures you plan to display it with? Would really like to see them.

Dave
