Eagle Design Tiger I (2 Viewers)

The 1/29 scale of the ED Tiger splits the difference between 1/30 and 1/28 scale figures; so both should look reasonably realistic with it IMO. The difference in the Tiger I dimensions between 1/30 and 1/29 is .2 inches or 5mm. The average height of European males in 1943 was 5' 8" or 1,727mm. he deck of a Tiger I is 1800mm high; so a realistic figure should not exceed the height of the deck. The accurate 1/30 scale Figarti Tiger I has a deck height of 60mm.

Only threads about Tiger Tank size or scale. I am still trying to obtain dimensions for the FL Tiger I; can you provide them?

But not in every thread:wink2:

Identify the mistakes you have found in the ED DAK TigerI.

I have marked them, there are some more mistakes as turret number font style, and desert yellow tank color.

Thank you for identifying the issues. The problems come from repainting the basic casting to keep the price low. A special casting for each theater of operations would result in a significant price increase IMO. I can live with these errors or modify the casting myself. One example is that the FIFO filters were removed in the field by crews in early 1943 due to maintenance problems in the Russian TO. Photos of GD Tiger I's at Kursk show them still painted Panzer Grau; but with the FIFO's removed. I modeled my Tamiya 1/25 Early Production Tiger I using these photos as a reference. Turret numbers were field applied and variations can be expected as many were undocumented.

Can you share these photos? I've never seen grey GD Tigers at Kursk. Every pic I've ever seen has been in camo for this time period.

I'll pass on the ED Desert Tiger,,,,,BUT ....I would like to see more of the ED Camo Tigers released....I would buy one most certainly

I will try to find the photos; I found them online several years ago. I was surprised they were still in grey that late, but GD was very busy and obviously didn't bother to update their paint to Dunkel Gleb or Camo. Not just one Tiger; but several were photographed in Panzer Grau July 1943.

Making one of the first tiger tanks that arrived in Tunisia is not easy, it's not just about taking an early production and painting it in greenish tones. The first tigers were the initial production, which shows some differences with the rest of tiger tanks that were an early production. I wonder if FL will have the courage to produce it someday. My intention was to show the errors that the ED model presents, at no time was it to encourage someone not to buy it.

For those of you that have the early production winter Tiger I, looking at the images on ebay is the "under color" gray? On the ebay inages, particularly on the wheels it looks dark yelliw, but of course it could be some weathering.
Thanks in advance!
