Eagle Design Winter Panzergrenadier (2 Viewers)

Thanks for the heads up Steve. The figure looks great; especially in the comparison photo. A clever touch by Y-Weido IMO. Interesting that ED and War Park are now in competition with figures.
FL and WB now have serious competition with no middle man to increase prices.

Each to their own naturally. Though looks to me it would go with WB as it's just that tiny bit chunkier than the FL figures flanking and for me it'd be fine in the background with FL.
But I have to draw the line somewhere with collecting, if I didn't I go for it, bearing in mind a dab of paint would be needed.

I think he'd be better off though doing crew for his Tanks.

Steve just think the overall figure to big to work with 1/30 scale , need to go on a diet lol

I don’t see that. Seems in the normal realm of human variation to me, especially wearing heavy winter gear. Not sure I am an overall fan but might add it to an order.

Neil,

Have to agree most certainly not compatible with FL BOB or Stalingrad and it's not a great figure might be cheap but still not worth the money.

Mark

I agree with Mark and Neil, the figure appears a bit to big to go with FL even when you take into consideration the bulky winter gear.

I also don't like the figure as a whole so regardless of the size, I won't be buying it.

Thanks for posting the thread anyway Steve, it's always interesting to see what is coming out.

Tom

The proportions of the ED figure fall within the normal human range for 1/30 scale. The winter gear increase the figures bulk. The FL figure is on the small side in comparison with the WB figure as well as the ED IMO.

That just your opinion to me the FL. figures look correct

With the ongoing supply issue from WB what would be the point of buying a figure that is compatible with them therefore FL is really the only other 1/30 scale WWII manufacture and clearly the figures aren't compatible.

If WB solve supply issue why look at getting ED as the figure would be around same cost but not as good.

I haven't included WP figures as they are for Kharkov and the winter gear on the ED wasn't in use.

Mark

Guys
Low or no sales will soon let ED know that they need to do better !
I only posted to give the heads up to those who may be interested, Winter Germans is not a range I collect.

And you fellas who normally pay that for WB are lucky. New WB here is that figure or more in pounds !

I agree Mark except that Kronprinz also makes figures that are pretty close in size to FL.

The other issue I have with this ED figure is that his head and helmet looks to be a bit to big in comparison with the FL figure.

Tom,

I was lucky enough to get some Kronprinz Grey Germans with some coming from a collector in the US.

Haven't got winter so hence omitting them from my reply.

Kronprinz are nice figures as long as you don't do ultra close up's on faces but not FL standard

Not just head and helmet the whole figure is just too bulky

Mark

I just don’t see the problem in scale. Yes, not the highest quality figure and the way he holds his shoulders and weapon is not great. I will get it. It is funny I am usually on the other side of this argument.

IMO means; In My Opinion. I know abbreviations can be confusing. The FL figure is smaller than the other figures in the photo, I wish ED would post the actual figure sizes, that would clarify the size matter IMO.

Yes that because it true 1/30 scale^&confuse

In your opinion Neil ^&grin I still can't agree that FL make the only "true" 1/30 scale figures. To me their WW2 figures have always looked too small, even when compared to FL figures in their other ranges. FL seem to have a convinced a number of collectors that there's is the only true 1/30 size figures but to most other collectors they are still too small and increasingly expensive. I did consider collecting FL WW2 figures when they were first issued but very happy I didn't...have saved a lot of money. Also happy for those that are happy with their FL sets, collect what you like as they say ^&cool

Matt, I agree somewhat about FL figures being a little to small for 1/30 scale. I purchased the FL Normandy Tiger tank figures and they look a little small for my FL Tiger and also against my newer WB figures and Kronprinz tank crew. For me the WB and Kronprinz figures look about right when I have them on or next to my FL Tigers, JJD Jags, ED tanks/halftracks/vehicles and my newer released Figarti Panthers.

That said the FL Normandy Tiger tank figures do look awesome in detail.

Tom

Tom; I just measured my WB Fallschirmjagers #25039 and#25053, both figures measure 60mm from top of base to top of head and the proportions are human! The FL figures are several MM smaller and considerably more petit IMO ( to keep Neil happy)! I agree with Oz; they look like 54 mm figures that have been put on a rack (medieval height adjuster) The proportions are too thin; they look like the walking dead. The WB and Kronprinze figures have more accurate proportions IMO.
