Eagle design WW1 planes (1 Viewer)

I'd be concerned that these would be some sort of knock off of JJD. Do I have any proof they are? No, just a concern.

Good call, Brad. If they are, I think this thread should be deleted, because we don't want to support pirates. Given that the seller is in the PRC, it's a good bet that they are knock-offs, though I concede that it's not a 100% certainty, just 99.99%.

Also, someone should contact John and let him know about them. If they are pirate copies, he is the one with the best standing to do anything about it. And, if it can be determined that they are copies, we can flag the eBay auctions.

Prost!
Brad

Knock-off was my first thought, as well. Looking at the pics, they are certainly of lower quality in paint, rigging, and detail. -- Al

As I tell my wife who is always looking for bargains, "you get what you pay for."

Have sent to John and he says not his - said 'possibly' other manufacturer of WW1 planes

Both listings have been ended, item no longer available. -- Al

I compared the pics in the ad to a Jenkins' model and the surface detail is completely different. This is quite obvious in parts like the undercarriage. My verdict? The $115 part is probably cloned and upscaled from a plastic kit. I suspect that we'll see more of this, because 3-D printer tech makes it so easy to make molds for resin models.

Re: Eagle design WW2 tanks + German LC

Eagle Designs also make WW2 1:30 German Panzer III's in 3 paint schemes. According to their ebay page they sell rather well !

They also make a German landing craft Siebel type thing - you would need 2 with a barge in between to carry a tank though. They sell well too.

their ebay userid is y-weido

anyone know anymore about this new Chinese producer ?

Cheers,

Stefan
