Gentlemen ,

I have been collecting K&C for almost twenty years now...I had always been enamored by the war in North Afrika...Probably started after i saw James Mason in the Desert Fox as a kid...Which also lead me to my first foray into K&C , when i bought my first set of Afrika Korps soldiers in the 90's...
To my question...I never see any of the original K&C AK pieces on Ebay or at shows or even pictures...I was wondering if anybody knew how limited these initial set's were ?! Or what they are worth these days...I have a few of the first AK set's & i am not looking to sell them , just wondering & curious if anybody knows anything about them ? I will post the pictures of the set's i have...Thanks ,

Joe

Louis should be able to tell you amounts produced. If not, Andy may be if help. I would consider these more scarcer than the European version but I don't think they bring as much.

Always regretted not purchasing the AK motorcycle & sidecar combo...I was just curious Brad , because I never see them anywhere...Bought these @ a toy soldier shop that used to be in Elmhurst back in the 90's...Got to thinking about them after I went to the Chicago show , & was looking to see if anybody had the older AK stuff of which I did not see...thanks...

Joe

Joe,

I can't recall ever seeing the older AK at a show. Nowadays, forget for the most part finding anything like that. Think I saw a couple on eBay once but because it didn't really go with post AK 10, I passed on it.

Your stuff is pretty cool and it's great to see some of it. Not many show (or necessarily like) the old stuff. I know it's rough and crude but it has its own character.

Yes, Brad I agree...The older stuff doesn't blend well with the newer set's...But as you said they have a character all their own...Got the early WS winter variants as well...Regretted not buying the AK moto-combo when I had the chance twenty years ago....

Brad-

At the Westcoaster a few years ago I saw one older AK set (AK006) for sale during the room trading. I decided to hold off on buying it to think it over. I came back about 20 minutes later and it was gone. Aww, good ole regret paid a visit that day.

Hi Brad,

i do have those AK006,

i will take one shot of them in a few minutes.

Serge:salute::

heres the AK006 for you Panzer Ace,

Joe, If these are with the original boxes I would give a ballpark estimate on these sets + or - $25.00. Of course an estimate is simply that and any collectible is worth what someone is willing to pay at the time.
The 2 figure MP set $175.00 - $200.00 3 man MG team $225.00 - $250.00 4 attacking figure set $250.00 - $300.00 / 5 standing figure set $300.00 +

Wayne ,

Thanks for that...It's not that i want to sell them , just wanted to know how many of the AK set's were made & if i ever ran across an early set what would be appropriate to pay...I would love to get a hold of the AK moto-combo , i passed on it in the 90's...why ?! i cannot say...!
Also , nobody really mentions or shows pic's of the old set's...So i figured it would be an interesting topic...It was nice to see Serge's early AK collection...Very beautiful Hanomag...
Thanks again , Wayne...

No problem Joe. Like I said these are some prices that I have seen in the past but people will put the same sets up for sale for BIG $$$. I believe the prices I gave were fair market prices without getting too far off the mark.
I am sure someone will jump on here and say I am wrong and they are right........whatever. Enjoy the AK !!! :salute::

Wayne ,

I've seen some of the european version of these set's for sale @ various times , but never any AK set's...I've got one of the set's in european version...
I believe the prices you mentioned are fair , & would be what i would be willing to pay for any of these set's at this time...Again i would love to pick up the AK moto-combo at some point but that may just be a pipe dream !{sm2}
I was at the Chicago show looking & hoping , but obviously was not successful...I did as i had mentioned in another thread settled for buying the new K&C Adler...
I will post a pic of the european set...
