Sorry everyone but this has to be said, I was looking on both Ebay.co.uk and .com today at King and Country and after the first 4 pages of sets which people put on ebay to sell by letting peopl bid, I was faced with about another 8 or 9 pages filled with buy it now items which are neither retied or discontinued and are still in stores!!!!!!:confused::mad:

I hate that! What ever happened to the days when you could go on Ebay and just get maybe 4 or 5 pages full of things that were retired/discontinued and that people could bid for or buy it now?:mad:

I hate constantly seeing the new sets just released on Ebay for 'BUY IT NOW' at the same price as what the shops sell them at or dearer and all are 'Buy It Now':confused:And then if they are not sold in the alloted time, say 11 days, they are placed back on it the day after the time is finished for the exact same price! It's just annoying that people are making money like that, using ebay as a place to basically set up a company an also wastes the time of people goin on ebay to look for older sets!

Does anyone else know what I mean or am I just being cranky?:mad:

This doesn't belong in here but the ebay thread. Please ask the moderators to move it.

And, yes, you're just being cranky :)

Well Chap...

It took you longer to write that note than to scan through the couple extra pages of listings on eBay. By the way, there are people running business' on eBay selling new items via their respective eBay stores which is a great thing. So in short & sorry to say it...Yes-Cranky is fitting. Wishing you all the best though.

Some of the vendors are dealers with actual stores and are people we interact with on the Forum. If you want just items you can bid on, select the "auctions only" preference when you search e-bay - it will skip all of the buy it nows.

I was looking on ebay last night and there was almost 2000 KC items on there. That seems like a lot.

A few years ago the re were 650 - 800. But back then, most listings were auctions by individuals and most items were AFVs and 3 - 4 figure sets. Now it's mostly dealers selling new items, lots of "buy it now" and a lot of the listings are for single figures as there are proportionately fewer AFVs and multi-figure sets being made today.

I often wonder why people don't use the "Advanced Search" facility on eBay where you can modify results such as excluding "Buy it Now" items.

Btw, for several years my eBay (Worldwide) search of King & Country products has resulted in a minimum of 4,000 results. The fact that this result has had such little variance suggests to me that the balance between private sellers willing to accept below RRP for their sets is balanced by those that have stopped selling until prices improve.

Imho collectors should take advantage of the current Buyers Market rather than "get cranky" about who is selling what.

I get where you are coming from Scott, eBay was originally an auction house. I have yet to go to an auction and just buy it now. However it has been stated that you can just view the auctions so that should eliminate that frustration.

It would be interesting to know how many of those items are actually not K&C items but seller has used the words in the title because knows will get more lookers.

I personally dislike e-bay, IMO and, am glad to have never bought from it. Just sends out the wrong vibes to me. I know lots use it but, IMO no thanks.

I don't know if he was referring to me but if he was I posted them in the areas they belonged, not the K & C section.
