Hi Guys,
Ebay sent me their usual message about Hateful or Discriminatory Listings in regards to my listing of a BBG07 Dietrich and cancelled the listing.
I guess somebody must have reported the listing but forgot to report the three other current Dietrich figures (2 BBG07's and a Collectors Showcase) also showing on Ebay.
I am pretty sure I have listed this figure before without problems.
I did not mention SS or LAH in listing description.
Some consistency would be nice.
Regards
Brett

Brett,

I am sorry to hear about your listing being cancelled.

There are many of these item listings on eBay that just sail through to completion without issue.

The inconsistency appears because I think eBay acts in response to someone reporting a seller's item for whatever reason/s.

This is just my personal opinion which maybe right or wrong.

Best Wishes, Raymond.:)

This is just crazy. This issue has been addressed before in this forum, but I cannot stress this enough : these figures are absolutely innocent in themselves and people just want to collect good reproductions of History. If someone's mind is wrong about the nature of these figures then that is that individual's problem. Any given individual can turn a scissor or a kitchen knife into a discriminatory/hate item, for instance. You just can't stop things like this simply by cancelling listings, people will find ways around it and probably be even more attracted by the forbidden/danger/underground side of it.
In my view this is plainly just another case of freedom falling prey to PC. A pretty ridiculous one by the way (we're talking toy soldiers, for God's sake, where is it going to end, toilet paper?). So I have to say: shame on you E-bay on this one, you're sounding like the people you're so afraid of showing at your website!
Maybe this is another opportunity for Changing Guards Auctions to grow, some competition is always welcome!

Brett,
do you have Europe/Germany as a shipping destination? That is what I found was the issue 99% of the time.

Well said mate. It is a sad commentary on their policies and implementation.

eBay Stinks! I have said this before and I do not like using them. NJJA told me just yesterday they had not done that in awhile.

Now think about this. What are the chances that the complaining party is actually another seller trying to get rid of competing figures? This would explain it. Someone would have to keep track to find out which dealer was selling an item whilst another sailed right on by. That could point out a potential suspect.
Something to think about.

Actually eBay often cancels these "hate" items because of the laws in France and Germany! Sometimes you can avoid canceling of your listings by saying "for sale in the US ONLY"... but I am completely agree: eBay is out control :(

Guys,
That could be a good tip about not listing in Europe / Germany. I will try it again next year. Thanks.
You would have thought that Ebay when removing one item actually did a check and removed all identical items at the same time. Surely their policy should be the same across all Ebays.

Now back to unpacking some K&C UK Crimean items.

To: "The Military Workshop":

I had the same problem back in 2007 when listing some sets of glossy LAH sets that I was replacing with post 2003 production K&C LAH sets. I ended up relisting them on eBay with photos avoiding any NAZI emblems & I sold them all without further problems. Ugh! Indeed eBay is not consistant either with regards to them allowing NAZI movies, books, coins, etc to be sold on eBay. Gosh, these are just toy soldiers afterall! You have my sympathy! Dear "Glossman" / Raymond:

Ah, I did not think of that possibility. It would make sense that eBay employees would be too busy making profits to have a bunch of eBay employees reviewing countless eBay listings each day! So perhaps you are on to something here.

Thanks for your input on the eBay banning of "NAZI" toy soldiers on eBay listings.

Best regards, "Iron Brigade" - Gary

Something here that I am missing, I've seen K&C's «Nazi» items for sale either in Germany, France or Italy, well known and public websites...

Beats me too but I have seen that observation made before. I wonder what the real policy is and where, if anywhere, it is written?

Well I assume it is covered by the Nazi and Nazi related offensive material category which states the following restrictions and prohibitions:

These items can't be shipped to Germany, France, or other countries that prohibit Nazi-related materials:
Non-propaganda German films made before 1945
Documentary films about Nazis, World War II, or the historical significance of that time period in world history
Hollywood-style films with Nazi subject matter
Eva Braun’s home movies
"Mein Kampf" and Hitler’s Second Book
Books with swastikas on the cover (must have been published outside of Germany if published between 1933-1945)
“What if?” type books that discuss what would have happened if battles or the war had ended differently
Non-propaganda books
Models of World War II German military vehicles
Action figures in World War II German uniforms
Reproductions of World War II German uniforms and equipment that do not have Nazi symbols
Jewish identification (armbands, Star of David)
Nazi issued documents (passports, travel papers)
Anti-Nazi items (such as the Hitler pin cushion)
Battlefield, concentration camp, or war victim photos (even if the image contains dead bodies)

Not allowed
These films: Jud Süß, Der ewige Jude (The Eternal Jew), Triuph des Willens (Triumph of the Will), Die Ausschwitzlüge und Ihre Folgen Videofilm (Kritik Verlag) (The Auschwitz Lie and Its Consequences), Die Folgen der Ausschwitzlüge für Ernst Zündel (Kritik Verlag) (The Consequences of the Auschwitz Lie for Ernst Zundel), Wochenschau unkommentiert
- Triologie - Gestern und heute (1938), Adolf Hilter Videofilm (Kritik Verlag), Lüge wo bleibt dein Sieg (Kritik Verlag), (Lies, where is the victory), Zeugen wider der Gaskammer (Kritik Verlag), (Witnesses of the Gas Chamber/Witness against the Gas Chamber), Any film identified as Nazi propaganda
Music or films that promote hatred and racial supremacy
Books by these Nazi authors: Alfred Rosenberg, Baldur von Schirach, Hermann Göring, Dr. Joseph Goebbels, Hans Zoberlein
Holocaust denial books
Nazi propaganda books
These bands and types of music: Nazi marching music, Absurd, Skrewdriver, Nordic Thunder, Hilter’s Inferno Songs
Any items that were owned by or affiliated with the following Nazi leaders: Martin Bormann, Joseph Goebbels, Hermann Göring, Rudolf Hess, Reinhard Heydrich, Heinrich Himmler, Adolf Hitler, Wilhelm Bodewin Johann Gustav Keitel, Alfred Rosenberg, Julius Streicher, Propaganda postcards with images of Nazi leaders or pro-Nazi text
1936 Olympic medals
Uniforms, uniform components, weapons, or other items that bear the Nazi swastika or SS runes
De-Nazi-fied items (items that originally had a swastika or SS runes that have been removed)
Listings where images are edited or cropped to try and hide Nazi markings or insignia

Interestingly this literally means you cannot ship any German WWII toy soldiers or AFV or model aircraft to Germany or France and certainly no Nazi personality figures. Is this really the case?
