Bound to happen, when you buy a lot on ebay, every once in awhile.............

1. Bought Kingcast Mounted Mongolian on horseback single. Rare piece, Horse is supported by one leg, so fragile.

2. Seller ships on time, unfortunately, complete idiot in packing, so horse comes no longer mounted on base and rider with fragile arrow pack has issues.

3. Contact seller to let them know, didn't really ask for a solution, I got the thing for cheap, so in a way, I was just going to chalk it up to bad luck.

4. Seller " please send it back for a refund less original shipping per our policy" ^&confuse

5. Reply to point out that why would I do that, it would cost me more in shipping both ways and that since this was in no way my fault that isn't a good solution. Again, my reply didn't ask for a solution, more or less just a point.

6. Seller replies " Please send back for full refund minus your return shipping per our policy" ^&confuse

7. Again, I point out why would I do that and be out money when again, NOT my fault that your packing was subpar. STILL, my reply I do not ask for a solution, I am in the write off mode.

8. Seller replies rudely that I should read their policy prior to bidding.

9. Ok, now he got my attention. SO I reply: "As a buyer and seller on ebay, when a mistake is made, you do the right thing, you either send a refund and write it off or you get the item back at your expense and make the buyer whole" I further went on to say " I was just going to write this off myself, but since you have decided to be rude and arrogant, I will now take the time to leave the proper and deserved feedback".

I mean , really? Cmon folks, it is not that hard to do the right thing once in awhile. The sad thing is, I was just writing this off, the cost is so minimal its not worth the effort. But I tell you, nothing like a little self righteous rudeness to rile you up. This is a classic example where negative feedback should be left and it took a rude person to motivate me to do it. I sell and buy a lot on ebay and I just choose to not act this way, some people unfortunatley are just dense.

Thought I would share, if anyone wants the seller's id, please pm me, happy to let you know.

Tom

hi,

same thing happend to me with a set of soldiers, turned up badly damaged and seller offered refund but i had to pay postage which would cost too much to send back. basically id have been down £40 on postage and he could not understand what the problem was. i just took it on the chin and binned the soldiers.

regards
liam

While shipping from Canada is expensive, at least the tracking numbers and insurance work. I just ask for a photo of the damage, refund the sale price plus shipping and call Canada Post. Only called them on 3 items (one destroyed, one slight damage for partial refund, one delivered to doorstep but went missing) but got prompt refunds of selling price and shipping cost.

It's so easy to mostly avoid these issues. Just pack the **** item well. That's all there is to it.

I can count on one hand how many damage disputes I've had in the past 5 years. If a seller isn't sure how to pack an item then they should ask.

Sometimes all people take seriously is the sale of an item. It's disrespectful.

Phantom, the insurance here in the US with USPS is like pulling teeth. It can get so convoluted that it seems like all it is an additional fee should want to pay more.

Guys, sometimes you can't make stuff up. So I leave a negative and look what this idiot writes me:

,Hello there !! What is up with you and the negative feedback, did you read our return policies as they were listed ? - Apparently NOT or did you think you could pull a fast one and get your money back and keep the figure ? - We are contacting EBAY in regard to you as a Buyer , Plus it appears that we have had this very same issue with you in the past according to our records ! - Please do us the favor of NOT Bidding on our Auctions in the future !!

So, let me get this straight he thinks I am pulling a fast one on him for $14, yeah, times are tough :p:p Additionally, I have NEVER ever purchased something from this person in my life to my knowledge and honestly this might be the second time ever with bad breakage on an item received!

So, I finally put out my reply after thinking on it a few minutes::

Dear ********
Contact ebay, please do so, I am a well respected community member for a long time. You are the only negative feedback I have ever left. Why you got it, simple, rudeness and arrogance. When I contacted you, honestly, for the amount involved i was just going to chalk this up oh well. Look, flat out, this is your fault, due to your faulty packaging of a fragile item, it broke. I am a well respected toy soldier buyer and seller, I know what I am doing. Anyhow, because of your fault, I got a broken item. YOu then offered solutions that would leave me out money (no matter how little) that is just plain wrong. When I sell something, if it breaks due to my fault, I offer 2 options, full refund plus return shipping or I just refund and write off the item. OR in this case, just saying you are sorry it happened probably would have been enough. But no, you read me your policy as arrogant as possible and so, due to your bad packing, rudeness and generally not living up to the dealing, you got a negative, plain and simple. So, you earned this one and your message below proves my point. Why don't you do toy soldier collectors everywhere a favor and not sell any because you are not qualified to pack them and deliver them safely. No one is pulling a fast one on you, you just need a lesson in dealer etiquette.Good luck.- Tom

Ok, enough of boring the forum on this, I just in a way found it amusing, like I said, you just can't teach someone common sense and courtesy, oh well!

Good luck trading

Well, Good luck to you with this one. I think your message was very civil and got the point across, and should he do what he is saying, I am sure ebay will side with you.
Sorry for your bad experience,
Sandor

I buy a lot on eBay.. and sometimes figures without their original boxes and foam inserts... Unless the seller is a collector himself, I simply don't bid on those items..
The only people who know how to really pack a figure well, are the collectors who appreciate not having a single paint chip on their figures
I have just bought 5 90 mm Aeroart figures on eBay but 4 were missing their original boxes. I asked the seller to really pack them well, either into custom made foam, or multiple layers of
tissue paper and other kind of foam material then individual boxes then another bigger box, etc..

I asked for USPS overnight delivery. Got them on time but 4 of them were damaged, some before getting shipped and some during shipping

I called a pro painter in my area and asked him how much would it cost to fix the figures "as new"

The seller was kind enough to refund me that amount.

Seller is now happy and I'm happy

In my book, the only other option I would have accepted would have been a complete refund including all shipping cost, nothing less.
