Well said Rob and, in the same vain I would respect without wanting to create a censorship which, is exactly what the nazi's did with speech written word and finally with people that those who dislike allow those to enjoy the frequent release of this very popular and interesting range in peace.

it would take more than a repaint- a- the BSA is NOT a quasi military organization looking to feed it's youth into a warped war machine nor at any point in their existence did they ever demonstrate any ettiquette in the motion of a "seig heil"- ie- just repainting but keeping that salute would be all F'd up as a representation of the BSA.

Chris...

I was talking about some of the previous releases which are in marching pose rather than the ones giving the national socialist salute.

Mitch, the point you raise is an interesting area of the forum. I myself have in the past started threads that are I guess a celebration of K&C and my enjoyment of the hobby. However sometimes people join in who either do not agree or strongly disagree, now the question is, should they be stopped from giving their (sometimes negative) views. And although it may spoil my thread, they probably should not be stopped unless its designed to annoy, insult or spoil the thread. I know its frustrating but freedom of speech is so important that sometimes you just have to go with the flow. The LAH is a 'Hot Potato' no doubt about it, and there seem to be few 'on the fence' as it were, but as long as its civil I think they can be very interesting threads.

One facet of this hobby that I have never understood is the appeal of parades- drill and ceremony- D-N-C in military venacular. Marching around in Parades was the LAST thing I wanted to do- not sure why collectors dig it but they do.......... be it LAH, US, British, etc- it's pretty neat to see what collectors can muster up.

For me it just looks downright cool !! In the real world. Queens' regiments (for example) en masse look so cool all in sync together and smartly dressed. I guess that is why I like 'em I get to capture that in a smaller scale. And who doesn't love a parade :D:D

I hear you. Sometimes when in London I walk back past Buck House as they are forming up or marching etc, wonderful sight.

Well said Rob

I'm convinced this is a part of the military enjoyed mostly by our European friends. Americans dig em too. Trust me- standing around, the incessant marching, the uniform standards and exactness, it's a royal pain in the keyster- no doubt in my military mind it was another mechanism the brass used to torque off the grunts!! lol

Thats exactly why I said I do not want censorship in any form. However. whether one likes the LAH stuff or not those that do should really be allowed to comment on the asthetic appeal of the sets without having to put up with the rather incessant and inflamatory comments. Its rather like one member when I joined was berated for constantly attacking K&C and, when I said he had a right to I was inundated with PM's and forum replies stating if I had been on as long as them then I too would be sick of it and trying to curtail his posts even, to the point of him being removed was action taken.
Now, what I mean by this is that should we take the last releases of the SA and the D&D set several posters stated how good the set was and that it was a change from parade etc figures and the next moment, a bombardment of abuse and links with deprtations, death camps and head shots.

Now, I have had infractions for commenting on what I see as ludicrous links with this from toy soldiers and, IMO find this to be as bad as someone spoiling a K&C thread with what was mentioned above but, some are allowed and some are not. It should be equal or, the people who constantly bring up links of reality with toy soldiers should, refrain if all they can do is inflame as thats exactly what it does. I note no threads are inflamed in relation to LAH etc from those who like the sets only the detractors.

Thats why I brought up the link with some accepting other SS units in their homes and swastika flags on AFV's as its acceptable to their moral code. Definately, should not be two rules as it seems there is. I believe its done for no other reason than to ensure the threads are closed or others are censored or infracted.

Mitch, I do agree it should be evenly handed across the board. I think when these spoiling tactics are employed we should hit the red flag button and help the mods keep an eye on things. Its deplorable to set out to derail a thread or spoil it for others, whatever we collect we should be allowed to do so without the peck peck pecking of nay sayers.

Rob...

We will just have to wait and see with the next releases.
