ETO version of the Tiger ? (2 Viewers)

Thank you for that.

Have to say that I was not impressed with the interior detail tiger from figarti and was not impressed with the manner of the painting from the eastern front version at first until several different pictures were produced.

Would have to agree with Wayne I think an FL Tiger would be to costly (much more than the current across the board standard fee) and, without starting a scale debate would be a different scale to what is on offer, if you wish to have an eclectic collection. I also wonder why they would do one as it will not fit into their current ranges they seem to like getting as much out of one mold as possible and, they could only release a tiger for their DAK range. I would think that until they open a theatre where tigers were used which would fit the mold for the desert one won't be coming anytime soon for FL collectors.

I know that fitting in with existing collections was an issue with the recent CS Tiger. I think the only really good variant (where I could not see anything wrong with) was the HB version and, although some have said that this figarti tiger is better, I await seeing them as I just cannot see it being true.

K&C's Tigers are well detailed with only the wheel moulding letting them down from being very good models. They can be enhanced really well with a little work and, can stand relatively well with other releases.
Mitch

And a mighty fine job that was

Have you ever found a comprehensive coverage of the stowage bins? The best I have is a book but it is in Russian.

No, just the information available in the Jentz & Doyle book. I have only seen 3 types, the modified Pz.III, the side mounted (like the one captured near Leningrad) and the standard version which was first delivered January 1943.

These are pretty much the differences I noted.
I also saw the prototype mentioned by Louis and noticed that it did not have side fenders and had the turret storage bins on the sides of the turret. It did have the Feifel air cleaner system.:smile2:

That would be #100 of the 502, which I think was the battalion commander's tank...what do you call it... a befehlswagon?

well i bought the cs normandy tiger 1 and it is on the large side, but it looks so right as the scale goes so well with the figures so as long as you don't have it next to other makers tiger tanks. you should be ok. the fifarti tiger is very nice as i held it in my hand at the show. i was just a little unsure about the silver steel showing on the barrell

HAWKEYE....

How does the barral work? Do you have to push it back and forth or, is it similar to the old dinky tanks where it locks and fires??

The silver showing was one of the main reasons I was hesitant about this Tiger 1
Thanks
Mitch

I saw this Tiger 1 in person at the HB and I WILL be getting one. . . .;)

We are still not free!!! Two witmann tigers in a couple of months one late one earlier versions to get a grey release. Is it seven since 2007. Would have been much better had they just released the grey variant. Bit sick of hearing about Wittmann to be honest. If they were really interested why not do a release when he was in the stugs etc when he scored the most kills??? its a reliance on narrow research, a fear to break with convention and find another tank ace.

I do hope and hope someone who has seen it can say, that the grey variant does not come with the box of tricks that seems to need to be added to the AFV's at the moment. Who will be the first to try moving wheels on a tank... Its the stuff nightmares of made of!!!
Mitch

Once upon a time I didn't think the hobby would ever free itself from Wittman's 007. Now we have early Tigers coming out the ying yang

I dunno, Forces of Valor???

Hey Figarti- CLEARLY trying to please the WW2 crowd is an exercise in futility sooooo, I recommend you give it a rest. preserve your sanity and produce a BRADLEY!!{sm3}

We modern collectors are a very forgiving lot as the amount of rivets to be counted on modern AFVs would boggle the mind.......
