Exclusive figure (1 Viewer)

That seems surprising to me. I know with the value of a dollar its not a very attractive idea for us anyway but you would think that they would welcome international orders.

Oh well, It is still a very interesting piece.

Thanks

In their delivery options, there is only two choices: (1) France and (2) other european countries. Accordingly, it seems that it is impossible at this point to order it from Canada or USA.

I'll call them tomorrow and let you know.

Pierre.

It may be just easier to purchase this through ebay, on which it is sure to appear.

I talked with Thierry (the owner of ToySoldiers Paris) and as his sales for Noth America were as high as nothing (I do not know how they manage to collect in Europe, the prices are incredible. After a serious exercise, I concluded, unfortunately, that I cannot afford the Charge of the Light Brigade), his software was not configured for delivery in North America.

With the enthousiasm provoked by the release of the figure of Jeanne d'Arc, he asked for a new configuration of the software but it is too complicated and, most of all, it would take too much time to do it.

But I ordered my figure and I did it online :)

As the majority of the members of the forum do not really understand french, I will guide you, step by step, to order it.

STEP ONE: Log on ToySoldiers Paris at www.toysoldiers.fr

STEP TWO: Click on the figure of Jeanne d'Arc

STEP THREE: Click on Commander

STEP FOUR: In the section called panier, enter the amount that you want to order in the square Qté

STEP FIVE: In the subsection called Livraison, in the square Pays de livraison, enter Angleterre

STEP SIX: Click Continuer at the bottom of the page

STEP SEVEN: Fill the form to create an account

Civilité = Gender
Nom = Surname
Prénom = Given Name
Adresse = Address
Code Postal = Zip Code (USA) Postal Code (Canada)
Ville = City
Pays = Country (by default, it will be Angleterre)
Téléphone = Phone Number
E-Mail = Email address
Remarques et consignes de livraison = remarks and delivery instructions

STEP EIGHT: In the square Remarques et consignes de livraison indicate (I made a clear warning) that the delivery address is in USA or Canada (or any other country)

STEP NINE: Click on Continuer at the bottom of the page to acces the section called paiement

STEP TEN: The payment will be, by default, by Carte Bancaire (credit card)

STEP ELEVEN: Click on the square Je certifie avoir lu et accepté les conditions générales de vente (I assure that I read and that I accept the general conditions of the sale)

THERE IS A WARNING IN RED (just before the button called Continuer) that reads as follow: Attention: After you will have clicked on Continuer, you will be not allowed to modify your order

STEP TWELVE: Click Continuer

STEP THIRTEEN: Choose your credit card

STEP FOURTEEN: Enter your credit card number (No de carte) and the expiration date (Expire fin)

STEP FIFTEEN: Enter the last three number (cipher) on the back of your credit card in the square Veuillez saisir...de votre carte bancaire

STEP SIXTEEN:Click on VALIDER

STEP SEVENTEEN: Print the reference of the transaction

STEP EIGHTEEN: Pay your credit account when you will receive it :)

My estimation of the price of each figure is 165,00$US, excluding the custom fees, because the shipping fees will over 20 euros (which is the cost for the delivery in England).

I hope that those informations will help you and avoid that you have to pay I don't know how much money on eBay to get it.

Best regards,
Pierre.

Thank you Pierre,

I just completed my order. It was easy with your guidance.

Dear Pierre,

I also want to thank you. Your instructions were very clear and it was easy to order. The only thing I want to note is that there is no place to enter the state or province. Just in case, I reentered my address in the Remarques et consignes de livraison section in the standard American address format with the state to the right of the city.:)

Pierre

Sorry little confused at the begining of your conversation. What was the refrence to the Charge of the Light Brigade about?

regards

Tony

I think he means that he couldn't afford the Charge and this so he's getting this figure. I'm also, unfortunately, in the same predicaments, except I'd prefer to have the Charge. It's also compounded what's coming down the pipeline, such as WW I, Arnhem and by the fact that I don't collect the medieval line.

Hi Steven-

You are right and I forgot to indicate that Laval is in Québec. I'll send them a note. Thanks for pointing that to the attention of the members.

Amitiés,
Pierre.

Pierre

I going to wait to see if you guys have any trouble in getting this figure - please keep me informed on how the shipment goes.

Thanks, Ron

Hi Tony,

Brad is right. I am more than tempted by your exclusive range but starting collecting it would make me in the position of stopping other series that I collect.

When I wrote I made a serious exercise, is because I considered all the arguments in favor of collecting the Charge and all the arguments against doing it.

The serie itself is the strongest argument in favor of collecting it and, despite their prices (don't forget that a comparable figure to the CRW01 (who's selling price is 56.56 pounds) like the RTA003 is selling at 55,00$US which is about 28.0899 pounds today) I was, at that point, ready to start collecting it (and when I say collecting it, I mean collecting it: buy every figures that you will release).

Your offer of free shipping for any country if we order before March 31, 2007 was (or still is???) a redoubtable argument that made me decide, at that point, to go for your Crimean War exclusive figures.

Then, without playing poorly with the words, I figured how much I will have to pay in custom fees, taxes (federal and provincial) and handling fees (can you imagine that, handling fees! On What?). It will cost me a minimum of 30% of the total invoice which is near 175,00$CDN.

At that point, I decided that it was too much money. I concluded that I cannot afford it without renouncing at other series like American Revolution, Ancient Egypt, Imperial Collection and the upcoming American Civil War and WWI. I also have to take into account the upcoming airplanes, the regular ones and the custom ones (I still have the intention to buy a Bf-110 with the markings of the Battle of Britain).

Accordingly, unless you declare a value of 40,00$US for the customs (and you will not do it as you are a responsible company and a good corporate citizen) or that you send me only one figure per two months without charging me shipping fees (so I could dilute the effects of the over taxation in Canada and Quebec), I cannot afford collecting your (and don't be afraid of the words) very magnificient exclusive serie.

I hope Tony that this long and fastidious post make it clear: that without the taxes that I will have to pay, I would have to manage to buy your products but, at one point, I have to stop.

My best regards,
Pierre.

I think Pierre is having the same problem that most of us do, which is selecting which ranges to collect, based on financial circumstances. It's just not possible to collect everything.

Pierre, the only thing I can say is that Tony and Bob will be in Chicago so you might avoid some taxes if you come to the show. Of course, you would have pay for hotel, travel so nothing is ever easy.

Pierre,

Thanks for the great instructions! I ordered my figure this morning.

Regards,

Louis

Brad-

You are tempting the devil now.

One week holidays in the City of the Winds is something interesting, plus the possibility that Louis, Hans and Larry release their book on that occasion and also the possibility to salute the members of the forum who will be there (I use the verb to salute because for to discuss, I do not have enough talent in english to express myself:eek: :) )

I am sure that one day we will manage to see each other and take a beer or two while I will listen to you and the others talking about toy soldiers. You know, be quiet in my corner and enjoying the a peaceful moment with friends is something precious for me.

Pierre.

Louis-

You are welcome.

I was a little bit afraid that my instructions may be too directive but as we say in french: trop fort ne casse pas (free translation: too hard does not break).

Pierre.

Pierre

Understand loud and clear now Pierre......... i thought you were talking about Toy Soldier Paris buying the range.

You are correct with the comparible figure but ALL please remember that WE as K&C UK have to also pay for the design development and box design of the range to make it EXCLUSIVE. Being a business these costs of course have to be spread across the range. So a like for like comparison against a K&C self made figure is not 'eggs for eggs'

Pierre and any other Forum member Myself Bob and Dave from K&C UK are talking about a few drinks in the K&C UK room before the event in Chicago.

We are going to bring over some UK Beers for some serious sampling if anybody is interested. Not our turf to organise an event but adrinks session is a must.................Plus its my birthday out there. I will also be bringing over some nice European wines to try and impress Larry!!! if i can

Would be great to see all for some fun. It looks lik the Tomy Atkins guys and a couple of other UK dealers manufacturers will be meeting up.

Tony
