What a beautiful REQUEST…..!:eek: We have to keep asking for more and more Battle of Berlin and Eastern front figurines. I know that the Russians are not popular but I am pretty sure that the Germans are, and will be a bigger hit.

I think that some civilians would very nice to have too.

Cheers

Oh Yes! and lets show Alqueda strapping bonbs to tricycles and children riding into market places! or maybe the children that are forced to fight in africa? This is nothing to celebrate or get excited about, check yourselves, Period.

don't see any of the K&C figures as 'celebrating' anything , just a reflection of history and real events,
As regards getting excited about K&C figures, well, last time I checked , that was allowed on the forum in regard to K&C

I agree about some countries in Africa-complete mess and unbelieveable tales of horror, unprecedented in my view (Watched Bob Geldorf BBC series of him going thru some african countries recently on DVD), sometimes the news misses the true depravity of some conflicts

I think, unfortunately, that KC has gone to generic German soldiers and vehicles that can be used on either on the eastern or western front. So it is questionable that we get any further Fall of Berlin specific figures. That's too bad in my opinion since this is the series that brought me to KC. A lot more could be done with it as suggested over the past couple of years. Never say never though and maybe Andy will have a surprise for us in '08. The JS-2 would be a great start.

Berlin fell  Somebody should pick it up :p

I am feeling childdish tonight and you guys get the results.

Regardless, it would be nice to see, and yes I know, Andy says, "Russians don't sell," new Russian figures and some vehicles like any of the SU series of AFV. :)

You right Combat never say never, but Andy personally answered to me that there is no plan for Russians release fro 2008, may he will change his mind  I hope so :D

You right the last BBG could be use in both fronts, but still BBG figurines in winter uniforms

agree a lot more could be done with this line, the best sculpted german figures imo are the Fall of Berlin ones, some great desperate, last ditch action going on with them
and a few extra russians

Here's a pic of the Hitler Youth being sent to the slaughter. Even the german people and military were appauled at the senseless waste of this effort.

The same debate arose recently in the 1/6 hobby about whether it was appropriate to make Hitlerjugend figures, when manufacturer Did released this new figure: http://www.onlinedid.com/products/wwii/80047/

My two cents is, like Ray I am a bit queesy about it, yet really, a significant number of the "adult" soldiers fighting in WW2 were only 18 or 17 years old because some would lie when they signed up. The recruitment centres certainly didn't seem to investigate it too thoroughly. So why are Hitlerjugend figures that are 13-17 (i.e. only 4 years younger) so much more offensive to us? I don't know the answer to that question, it's tied up in the whole question about when a "boy" becomes "a man".

As an alternative yet just as exciting Berlin release, I have several times proposed Nachtjager (night hunter troops) who were armed with early IR night scopes and infrared resistant camouflage. They looked really cool IMO. There was also a panther tank specially outfitted with a big IR scope.

I believe HB had talked about the IR Panther at one time, I wonder what ever became of it?

In deed, I second you CS, and I would like to add to this request a few Volkssturm with Panzerfaust wearing Civilian cloths.

Cheers

eh I think Andy dosen't share our enthusiasm for Berlin, its falling, rapidly away , 4 sets in the last two dispatches and and the only piece of russian armour left  I think he's ordering everyone to the western front:D

I also am a little bit uneasy about collecting TS's of very young - and also very old combatants. Maybe its because you know deep down that these poor people were simply going to die for a lost cause.
Best Regards

The new Elephant can be used in Berlin. There were a few there in the final months of the war. There were also several FOB retirements this month.

They maybe have a better chance to survive fighting than stayed hidden in the cellars. In the cellars, they was submit to the anger and no mercy of the RED ARMY soldiers.

Cheers:)

The last hope for a lost cause

Did you see this scene in the movie "Downfall" Rodrigo? I found it to be quite shocking to think that kids as young as 12 were pitched into battle to keep such evil monsters in power.

well i think they were terrified of the red army (as well they should have been considering , what operation barbarossa inflicted in its drive east). One of the reasons the germans put up a fierce reargaurd was to try and hold back the russians and give as many of their people as possible a chance to flee to the advancing US/UK fronts. I think that might be one interpretation of some of the thinking going on at the time, I think Hitler was pretty much out of the loop at this late stage...I think the impression was that little mercy would be shown by the red army

The last hope for a lost cause

Hitler,Himmler,Goering, and all the rest, thank god they are all dead and gone.Absolute Scum.Always sad to see indoctrinated children going off to die though. If it wasn't for the piece of filth shaking their hands, what could those young men grown up and done?.What productive and enjoyable lives they might have led?.Now multiply that millions and millions of times.
