Fallschirmjäger (1 Viewer)

Yes I have always liked the Gunn figures too, and their more recent sculpts are very good indeed, their last range of fallschirmjagers was really well done... in particular the MG42 on its tripod with gunner and ammo feeder/ assistant is an absolutely great piece ( I have it in the tropical version) .

Yes i have often considered the Gunn figures and they are indeed quite good...but then i always hesitated with the thought that KC just might
release them next month??????? i will wait a little longer, but here we are some years further and still no Fallschirmjagers for Normandy/Ardennes from KC...I am begining to wonder if the reason they seem to ignore these figures is because the splinter pattern camo
jumpsmocks are simply too difficult to re-create in 1/30 scale. but then again if TG can do it then why not KC. any thoughts on this guys..???.

The Thomas Gunn FJ Splinter Camo is very well done IMHO as you can see from the HMG set and the Puppchen AT Gun

Yes indeed!!...As i said TG have made some quite repectable Fallschirmjagers in the past I was a bit put off by .their first figures because of the
painting....i thought the splinter camo colours a little on the heavy side....(only my opinion of course) but the later figures as the ones you
pictured....(Puppchen) were more subtle and much better. I am really tired of waiting for a Fallschirmjager wonder from KC so maybe i should again take a serious look at TG. and i would"nt even have to hang them from a string..!!!!

Thank you Steve:salute:: Considering the black and white background, better all in black and white.

No i like the monochrome background....I have also made use here and there in my display cases of photographs/adverts from WWII magazines in fact anything that i feel goes together or spotlights the other item, i also am a great fan of mixing Original WWII items with toy soldiers. unfortunately most of my collections are packed away in boxes and stacked around my existing display cases as i am busy with a new "Museum Room"so i am unable to post any photo"s.

One of the first things a new visitor to my ManCave will do is run up to the U.S. Paratroopers
hanging from that dreaded string and say "Oh wow, Look at that". Set shown is DD253

Indeed the TG splinter camo colours are too bright and as you say too heavy , the later figures are a bit better .
the picture below shows how they should look . K&C If you have new FJs in mind maybe for later this year, have a look at these colours.
Don't dress them with freshly produced uniforms coming directly from the factory.
These colours faded very rapidly , sometimes in a matter of a few weeks (very rough use in the field and wearing)

The original TGM Fallshirmjager sets made in 2011 are brighter, but still nice figures.

Lots of variety and they go well in a group of 15 figures.

Notice the grayish blue pants not green or tan

I have been beating the drum for years for fallschirmjager in Normandy do them the KC way. But having seen the jump smocks in the bayeaux museum they have a blue green background to them . KC could do action figures and ones at rest or moving up. Endless possibilities. Could make 40 or 50 different figures. The toy soldier crowd is clamoring for KC fallschirmjager

I am quite sure....(I think).... that KC produced Fallschirmjagers would be properly researched and correctly painted, there is after all more than enough printed and digital information at hand not to mention surviving examples, but if and when we get our wish the smocks wether splinter/rain pattern or even sumpftarn pattern then the keyword is indeed....SUBTLE.....!!

In the meantime i have convinced myself to purchase the TG. Puppschen set, but i will be re-painting the jump pants as they are way to green,

The Thomas Gunn FJ031A Normandy Puppchen AT Gun is a nice set.

Thanks for sharing the photo"s. I really like the animation in these figures, and the Puppschen is an original piece to add to any WWII collection.
Great clear shots of this set but at this scale of enlargement it shows that even this TG. splinter camo paint job is not perfect. That being said it is still a good set which with a little paint and a lot of patience could be turned into a great set, and it would at least give me a couple (maybe more!!) Fallschirmjagers to put into a diorama until KC listens to our requests.

Steve

Yes, good clear photos "agmtanks" ! A really nice set, and TGunn have done a very good job on accurately sculpting the shape of the M38 paratroop helmet, which often is the Achilles heel of any manufacturers FJ figures ( to my eye), and so they should be commended for that.

These pictures are the 2 sets of Fallshirmjager Breakfast Club Part 1 & 2, very unique poses.

And I like all of the extra accessories that come with the sets.
