I noticed that the figures in this new plastic "Supreme Playsets" Crusader set bear more than a passing resemblance to a number of K&C sculpts: http://www.michtoy.com/MTSCnewSite/newplastic_folder/supreme_playsets/2008_adds/BMC-034.html

In the front row (from left) we have the firing crossbowman (MK013), then the horn blower (MK017), the fighting bishop (MK016), the hooded flag bearer (MK010), the slashing swordsman (MK011) and on the far right the knight with crucifix (MK003). My question is: did K&C give Supreme Playsets the rights to these sculpts or is this unlicensed copying by someone in China? Enquiring minds would like to know from the ruler himself.

A more interesting question, but do you think we can look forward to K and C versions of the mounted fellas in the second row this Sept/Oct?

Well that photo is a bit small for the best comparison but actually they do not appear that similar to me. The crossbow figure is similar only in the way that both have a stance common to firing such a weapon. The horn blowers have similar but different poses and very different detail and paint. The Bishops have different poses, paint and detailing. The hooded flag bearers are generally similar but I have seen that one done quite a few times by Russian artists before and after the K&C release. The slashing swordsmen are only similar in that they are both have Crusader markings and are both slashing with a sword. The knights with crosses are again generally similar in pose but not in any detail. Overall, it seems you have some figures which share some similarity in poses but those poses are intended to represent actions that the real versions of those such figures would take. That is not protected nor could it be unless you only wanted one company making all the standing firing poses for the civil war for example. I can't see the similarities here rising to the level that would be sufficient to be considered copies or an infringement under most governing laws. They look pretty nice though.
