famous people that collect? (1 Viewer)

I'm currently working with CC LLC on the motherlode collection from the Micheal Jackson Estate at Nevernever Land now titled "Sycamore Valley Ranch Company"...Latoya and I are currently negotiating
pricing for this popular custom one of kind set...

"We are the World War II"

Latoya asked me how long I had been collecting...I said "a very long time" she said how much stuff do you have?...I said "a whole bunch" She said when will you ever have enough?...I couldn't help this one but I replied...

You know Latoya, as Michael said...

Don’t Stop ’til You Get Enough:D

Who was it anyhow that started the thread claiming Ebay had fruitcakes?

Douglas Fairbanks Jr. was a Napoleonic figure collector.

Brits may remember the late Deryck Guyler of Please Sir! fame. He was an avid collector of flats and became Hon. President of the Society of Ancients.

Supposedly, Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee used to visit Tradition in Shepherds Market, Mayfair

As did Charlton Heston, Hattie Jaques, John Lemesurer and Harry Fowler.

I read an article saying Dwight D. Eisenhower was also a collector.

Can anyone can confirm this?

Thanks, Raymond.:)

That is cool some famous people collect figures. I thought I heard Mel Gibson did also, I believe the actor who played Samwise in LOTR, Sean Aston can't remember his name. But like Robert Zimmerman said, "you shouldn't let other people get your kicks for you". Who cares, it's a Hobby, have fun.:)

I have seen a few figurines in Mamie's knick knack cabinets at the Eisenhower Farm in Gettysburg. Eisenhower moved around so much in his career, the only collecting he did might be after his retirement to the farm. Much of the stuff there were gifts. My wife used to be a Park Ranger stationed there.

Wasn't she married to John LeMeasurier?

She was until she had an affair, when the affair broke up she comfort ate and piled on weight leading to health problems.I tought LeMeasurier was brilliant as Sgt Wilson in Dads Army,a perfect study of an English middle class type stuck in a mundane job.

Actor Michael York had been a collector in the past... I saw a picture of him probably taken 30 years ago with a gloss figure Rorke's Drift display. The late John Entwhistle, the original bassist of the rock group The Who was a collector as well.

I wonder if anyone on this forum is actually someone we are talking about??? :)
