Hi All: Hope everyone is having a beautiful Sunday morning. I was looking at my DAK collection this morning, admiring the vehicles and figures, and it got me wondering.

For a little discussion about one of K&C's best themes, do you have a favorite Afrika Korps piece?

I hear a lot about the Tiger Tank, but are there other sets that the group really likes?

I'm partial to Rommel's Horch, but there's the new 222 and Hanomag that many seem to like as well.

What's you're favorite (AK) item?

If it isn't the Tiger, it would have to be Rommel's GREIF

followed by AK035 Motorcycle Combo.

Love that GREIF Terry, very good choice. I've been combing retired items and have never found one of these.

I own the zundapp and was immediately impressed with the sheer weight - heavy metal on this one and all wheels roll. It's an excellent piece.

Westernoutlaw, why don't you contact the General who listed the AK077SL for sale? It is an excellent piece.

Thks,Chris

Toddy, I don't think anyone would argue with you that the GREIF half track is a favorite amongst many collectors.

Rommel's Greif for me too.

Lot's of sets tied for 2nd place, though.

Not a huge Desert theatre fan but, would have to agree the Demag was the best thing released.

I would have to say the desert Tiger, but there are several other pieces that would come in a close second. The GREIF halftrack is one, but also for me is the snub nose short barrel Panzer IV with the crew of 5.

My favourite one is definitely the kubel wagen: great colour and weathering, proportions, many details, nice driver, I would say that this piece is perfect( I just added some weathering to the wheels to put them in armony with the rest of the weathering).

True - the detail on the motorcycle is excellent looking at the tread on the tires, the sculpting detail on the MG34 and the weathering on the bike and numerous small details like the locks and sand on the dispatch cases, spoke cut-outs. The poses of the 2 figures seem realistic and the faces look real too. Looking back, I have are real appreciation for some of these older sets.

Early 222, and short barrel Panzer IV with all the crew hanging out of the turret hatches.
