Favorite Britains set or figure? (1 Viewer)

That is indeed a cool set. I have it packed away somewhere. No space you know. I also like the one of the regimental butcher chasing that Russian with his meat cleaver. I bet the new recruits didn't complain too much about the food after that incident.

Yo Vandilay "SIR", superb set not seen this one before thanks for showing it. What year was this put out, and what was cost?. The only thing I dont like is the horses on plates (you taking notes Britains) "Gads Sir" why put the horses on plates "Odd fish my dears" dont they have four legs to stand on. Great set Van, might break my rule about horses standing on plates if this comes up for sale, also it contains some regiments not produced before.
Bernard.

I agree about the plates. Although those horses would have a hope in hells chance of standing up without them. Not one of Britains best horse designs :(

Another thing is the colour of the plates GREEN??????? They could at least paint them grey as most soldiers would be on duty or on parade.

Hi Bernard

I also prefer the horses without plates , I think its original cost was
150 pounds [I bought it on E bay for about 100 about 2 years ago]
I cant remeber when it was made i,ll have to dig the box out [1998 seems
to ring a bell].
The photography is pure luck ,it was taken on our last camera before it
went for a swim [pentax optio] I think I used the macro setting .
Our new camera isnt half as good but they no longer made the model
of our old one.
cheers Rob

I think the green bases date from the plastic Deetail line which had all the figures in action poses, presumably not in cities, since it included Cowboys and Indians. When they re-introduced the marching Scot Guard in 1973, Britains didn't change the colour. I agree, grey would be better - maybe Ken and Richard are listening.
