All good stuff. I have them all except the two Westerns.

The John Ford cavalry trilogy is hard to beat. "Rio Grande", "Fort Apache", and "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon" (even if it is in color), are just tremendous movies. All three make numerous references to events and personalities of the ACW and in "Rio Grande", General Sheridan makes an appearance. Great entertainment. -- Al

In no particular order...

"All Quiet on the Western Front", 1930 version (though the 1979 version produced by Hallmark, starring Richard Thomas and Ernest Borgnine, is very good, too.)

"The Grand Illusion"

"Sahara" (1943)

"The Longest Day"

Prost!

Got some more Navy pictures, "Destination Tokyo", "Submarine Command", "Operation Pacific", "Run Silent, Run Deep", "Torpedo Run", and a favorite, "Task Force". A couple of those might have been in color, I just don't remember. -- Al
