Favourite King and Country Set (1 Viewer)

You know, its funny, but as I obtain a set, it often becomes a favorite of mine for a while. Especially the new figures, which are so incredibly well done.

As I collect mainly K&C Napoleonics, I would choose NA23 French Mounted Officer as one of my favourites from my collection, but any of the Scots Greys are up there as well.

My first K&C piece that I bought in Jan of this year from my Canadian retailer is also my favorite K&C set. WS70 winter Tiger with the 5 figures that can be arranged in various areas of your scene really creates a nice display set.

I agree, for me its the Tiger winter version. And i also love the Matilda.

I like just about all of the K&C napoleonics, andy makes the best figures out there right now, not that i,m into the andy worship thing but his figures are great.
I like the action poses the best and not that i,m a british figures fan, I like what he,s done with the british troops he,s put out. They all look great altough I think that the new artillary coming out should have had more of an in action look to them.
The new french look nice also other then the fact of being listed as 45line but having 3rd line shako plates on them???
I,d have an easier time saying what I don,t like then what I do and thats saying a lot to andy and his team.
The things I didn,t like was when he kept putting out all these chasseurs with no action one after an other not that they didn,t look good but they weren,t nearly as good as the other stuff he put out and they cost more then the better looking figures and were taken from the del prado line molds which I think should have made them cheaper???
So bottom line, to many favorites to list I like them all even the del prado rehash!:p

Let's hope the cook has enough eggs for all those guys, they look a bit hungry.

My favorite K&C set that I presently have is a toss up between:

(1) The 30 Corps Wood Sherman Tank. The detailing is just spectacular, the turret hatches are hinged to open and close, and it really looks great with the other Arnhem sets.

(2) The Bristol Beaufighter Torpedo Bomber in RAF Coastal Command markings. Everything else about this plane is just so perfectly executed (right down to the structure of the landing gear and the cooling holes in the barrel of the machine gun extending from the rear turret) that it is very easy to overlook the painted on cockpit glass.

My favorite K&C set that I don't have would have to be the "Les Miserables" figures K&C produced for the Hong Kong opening of the musical in 1996. From the photographs I have seen, the figures look to be the best sculpted and painted glossy figures K&C ever produced. They are a perfect duplicate of the charachters depicted in the poster for the musical.

Does anybody have pictures of the Miserable collection? ide love to see them!

Did you have a specific item in mind? At any rate, I just brought up for new members the thread of the pictures I took at Louis' house in March, which Pete posted at the time. Get ready to get blown away.

Nicolas,

I misunderstood. Upon re-reading your post I believe you want to see a photo of the Les Miserables set, not of my "miserable" collection. I don't own this set, but there is a photograph of it posted on this forum by Steven Chong. I will try to find the post for you.

Nicolas,

I just brought the "News From Hong Kong" thread up to the top of the board. The fourth post on this thread is an excellent photo of the Les Miserables set courtesy of Steven Chong.

Nice photo, Have I overlooked an AA machine gun on mine or is this an edition of your own?

Like many others, I find it hard to name a favourite, have to say the latest Hummel, flak panzer and kettenkrad are pushing everything else, but I love the british paras and tommy patrol.

I was wondering when someone was going to mention the new winter German vehicles. I got mine yesterday and have to say the Hummel exceeds all my expections for it which were pretty high. The kettenkrad is very nice too, really heavy for it's size, but the biggest upside surprise was the Flakpanzer. From the pre release pictures I thought it was kind of goofy looking, but it's a really well done vehicle, looks great next to the Grille and winter tiger. Extremely happy with all three, nice job, Andy and crew!:D

Yes the MG is from the HB winter Panther. You can buy the HB MG on its own, you'll just have to paint the support bracket white.

Oz, your right mate. eggs are not enough, looks like we need a....
field kitchen?

Is the driver of the Kettenkrad removable?
