February 2022 Release (1 Viewer)

not done specifically for the new Normandy but winter and placed on HB

Hope it helps

Isn’t the TGM Hetzer actually around proper 1/30 scale, as opposed to the larger 1/28-ish scale of the TGM figures?

True, however I read somewhere on the forum that the new TGM Hetzer was going to be a larger model than their earlier version. I was curious to see how much it had 'grown' and if it was worth me purchasing the newer model as I already have their earlier Normandy Hetzer.

As for the 'correct' 1/30 sizing, I note a lot of collectors have already switched from original 1/28 to smaller 1/30 models. I have purchased some of the 'correct' 1/30 models, mostly TGM sets, however due to space limitations for storage and display, and the fact I have so many earlier 1/28 sized figures and armour I am unlikely to buy a lot of the new smaller (relatively) 1/30 models.

Another issue for me, and perhaps some other collectors, is the ever increasing costs of newer models. I have been a collector for many years and I used to buy new models on an almost monthly basis. In recent years I tend to limit my purchases to when I receive 'extra' income, especially tax refund time around August - September when I actually visIt my local store in Brisbane.

If you gnat's a$$ it and measure it out, the TGM Hetzer is slightly larger than 1/30. Just like the recent TGM Panzer IV and Panzer III are slightly larger than 1/30. They're all more like 1/29-ish.

I personally think 1/29-ish is actually the sweet spot of these models, as the difference is only a few millimeters, and 1/29 scaled stuff seems to look good with the widest variety of figures.

The TGM Hetzer looks great with First Legion/W. Britains/War Park figures like Mark mentioned, but it also looks decently accurate with the slightly larger TGM figures. I think the commander figure for the camo Hetzer above looks pretty spot on size wise.

The Jagdpazer 38(t) "Hetzer" was a really small tank destroyer. Here's some video of a Swiss G-13 reproduced as a Hetzer (same exact external dimensions) with re-enactors riding on it and a tank commander standing in the hatch. Gives a good example of just how tiny the thing really was.

I have to agree with you about 1/29 scale being the sweet spot and able to work with the greatest variety of figures… Some of the War Park vehicles and Eagle Design vehicles are actually 1/29 and look decent with either the smaller or larger figures. Currently, I’ve got my TGM winter Hetzer in a nice little display that I’ve either alternated with some K&C Battle of the Bulge Germans or some War Park Kharkov figures. The K&C figures, while a tad large, don’t look completely out of proportion with the TGM Hetzer and neither do the smaller War Park Kharkov figures.

Thanks, I appreciate the additional Hetzer pics. I see in the pics they also have a Mark IV tank. I hope TGM or another company release a Normandy version soon, I neglected to get one of the previous releases that are now hard to get at a 'reasonable' price.

Agree - i too missed out on the TGM Panzer IVs camo, still gutted, i have not seen any in the UK for sale.

My fault I missed out on the last Mark IV Normandy color release. With some armor models where I'm not sure about scale, I either procrastinate and it disappears or I buy it then resell it after losing interest. Then I find I miss a model I have traded or sold, then try and find a replacement, I may have a 'problem' {sm4}
