February Figure News

Dear All
Welcome to our first figure release for 2025. These figures should be available end of February as we wait for our Chinese factory to return to work after celebrating Lunar New Year, 2025 is year of the snake.
All goods will be shipped at the end of February from the UK and distributed to the EU and rest of the world for this release.
We are in the process of opening a distribution centre in Belgian for our EU customers in a bid to avoid excessive delays by our goods being held up by Customs. More details to follow soon.

Return to the Foreign Legion

The French Foreign Legion, one of the world’s most iconic military forces. The Foreign Legion was created by King Louis Philippe, on 10 March 1831 to allowing the incorporation of foreign nationals into the French Army from the foreign regiments of the Kingdom of France. The establishment of the new regiment specified that the foreigners recruited could only serve outside France. Created to fight "outside mainland France", the Foreign Legion was stationed in Algeria. The Foreign Legion was initially divided into six "national battalions" (Swiss, Poles, Germans, Italians, Spanish, and Dutch-Belgian). Smaller national groups, such as ten Englishmen recorded in December 1832, appear to have been placed randomly.

This month we are releasing the first 4 x FFL figures with improved painting and designs from our first release some ten years ago. Over the next few months there will a further 8 x FFL figures and an artillery piece. The first 4 figures previewed today include conventional action poses, following these are another 4 x FFL figures which are also previewed in photos this newsletter include an officer and a bugler. Following on from the first 8 figures there will be an FFL flag bearer, drummer, machine gunner and grenadier. Later on there will be enemy forces including cavalry and African infantry.
Please read below details of the first 4 figures available late February:

WORLD WAR 2

With the release of the Thomas Gunn Self Propelled Guns we were compelled to make sure collectors had sufficient crew to man their guns, this month we have two new AFV crew figures.

SS170 Standing commander with Binos
Searching for targets and/or making sure there are no enemy waiting in ambush.
The figure can be used in a multitude of AFVs from Tanks, to SPGs and towed AT Guns.
The commander is detachable from the wooden box, the box is provided for added stability but can be removed if not required.
$55/£50 per figure
Available end of February.

SS171 Sitting Radio Operator
Taking down instruction from HQ or from the unit commander. The Radio Operator can be used in a variety of vehicles and situational dioramas including the Marder 2 and our new Grille also being previewed today.
$50/£48 per figure
Available end of February

A third crew figure with binoculars especially designed for the raised crew commanders seat will be available in the next few weeks

Sd Kfz 138 H Grille
The first variant of the Grille was based on the Panzer 38(t) Ausf. H chassis, which had its engine in the rear. Instead of a turret, the vehicle had a low-slung superstructure and fighting compartment. The 15 cm (5.9 in) Sig 33 (heavy infantry gun) was mounted in the front of this armored compartment. Being built on a tank chassis, its hull armour was 50 mm (2.0 in) at the front and its superstructure armour was 25 mm (0.98 in) at the front.
A total of 200 (including one prototype) were produced at the BMM factory in Prague from February to June 1943, and 10 more units were built in November 1943. The official designation was 15 cm Schweres Infanteriegeschütz 33 (Sf) auf Panzerkampfwagen 38(t) Ausf. H (Sd.Kfz. 138/1). The Grille served on the majority of fronts during WW2 including Italy, Russia and Normandy.

Our 1/30 scale release is available in 3 versions as follows with 45 of each version available:

Accpack 126 Grille with German cross on side, no other decals applied
Accpack 127 Grille with 932 serial number applied
Accpack 128 Grille with 912 serial number applied

The Grille is priced at $299. The price does not include any figures which are available separately.
Club members can claim a 5% discount at point of purchase.
The barrel elevates and depresses as required.
Available end of February.

Two new figures are released this month to coincide with the Grille, plus a new seated commander figure with binos will also be available in the near future.

NAM005A. Joy kneeling with 30 Cal - Black Hair
NAM005B. Sally kneeling with 30 Cal - Blond Hair

The US Marine Corp has a lot of traditions and having a smart appearance is certainly one of them. We think our two ladies follow on this tradition and look exceedingly well turned out.

That's it for this month, all figures are now available for pre-order and on our website but will not be available for dispatch until end of February or possibly early March depending on the factory return to work.
In the meantime do not hesitate to email us with any orders or queries.
We look forward to talking with you soon.

Thanks for the news, Wayne. I'm really liking the new Grille, a tank I'm not familiar with. The two new figures certainly make a nice addition and go well with the Marder as well. The shot below is a cool picture. Is that seated figure between the ladies an upcoming figure as well?

Nice observation, Rob! At first glance, that seated figure between the two women looks like the old SS061B figure, of which I’ve got several in my collection:

However, in the TGM pic, I don’t see the bomb and the base looks different with the containers in front of the figure…

It almost looks like the base is not attached to the figure (like a separate piece all together) - interesting. 🔍

I found another picture Wayne posted on Facebook (and which is also in the original email sent out by Thomas Gunn). The sitting figure is the SS061B figure as one can barely make out the bomb it’s sitting on in the picture, just to the right of the box the bratwurst lady is sitting on. Rob, you are correct in that the base with the containers is a separate piece.

And here I thought we were getting a hidden sneak preview of a new figure 🤣

I pre-ordered the 4 figures of the FFL. I didn't get in the first FFL series so I don't want to miss out this time.:)
