Can't help you with the "how to" part of your question. However, one of the posts in the thread you listed indicated that this grass will be commercially available in several different lengths. The post indicated the December 2008 time frame for the product's release. I would think we will be able to see this very soon in the new year.

You can also enquire with Ken Osen as they have a pretyy neat product also. I think it comes on a base and is about $45 dollars.
