This has been a favorite series for me but never expanded all that much for early war years 1939-1941 ; I have noticed many retired products for FOB with limited new subject matter comming out...Is this series exhausted and on it's way out as a result of production cutbacks???.... K/C should re-release FOB004....Probably the best sculped and painted marching WWII soldiers ever done by K/C....IMO

The last release was the Civilian figures in 07/2010 so 9 months ago maybe some more being released in the next dispatches hopefully,i reckon it hasn't be exhausted and i doubt the "Cutbacks"will affect this series or any series dramatically i think a mountain has be made out of a mole hill about the cutbacks,so IMO a big NO..........{sm4}

I think a couple of years ago (if it's been that long) Andy said something like he had exhausted the topic and it was time to move on.

The original conception of FOB was to focus on battles that didn't get as much attention as others. It would be nice if that could be done.

I beg to differ. There are still a few AFVs that would be good to do and I have reason to expect (fingers crossed) one this year. So while much of what could be done in this series has been done, I don't think the series is completely done.

If my old memory serves, the last time Andy did a talk in London someone asked the question re the FOB series, Andy said it was resting but would be returned to in time,which he did with the civilians.

The 'For you Fritz' set is a superb release from this range as is the Kubelwagen and Ambulance, I very much cherry pick from this range as I have too many other main ranges, but its all really good stuff.

There is still much fertile and untapped territory here as far as early war, Poland, Spanish civil war, Norway. No one says you have to put out 20 or 30 items per subject.

How's this for an early war that no one has done; The Winter War between Finland and Russia. For you snow oriented collectors, what more could you want? -- Al

I don't think this series is done quite yet. Where it will go is anybody's guess. In regards to Dunkirk that particular focus within the FOB line might be near completion but FOB was originally meant to be more broad in scope about lesser known conflicts within WWII.
I really like this series and have selectively picked up numerous pieces and many are amongst my favourites. I'm excited to see where we go next now that the civilians have been introduced. Perhaps early war Germany vs Poland??? :confused:

Frank mate,
Everything comes to he who waits.:smile2:This is a great range so have patience my friend. I am quite sure Andy has not forgotten this series.^&grin^&grin
Cheers Howard

Would be cool to see some british captured tommies, or injured sitting on the beach waiting to be evacuated!^&grin maybe some soldiers sitting playing cards or eating rations?^&grin i'd like to see a cwt truck with tommies sitting inside!!^&grin Would love more marching tommies, they go great with many other areas of ww2 such as my xxx corps diorama fr market garden! {eek3}

I don't care what anyone says, I think Polish Cavalry, even as a stand alone group would be a hot seller!
regardless of the facts or myths surrounding them.

I hope K&C will maintain and add to the "Fields of Battle" series. As others have said, this range is far from done.

There have been some great sets with figures in good poses eg: British Tommies, French Army, Wehrmacht and more.

The civilians were a good idea as we have had so many uniformed figures. In my view, these were essentially neutral figures, so I really did not appreciate all the hubbub.

Far from being just a "Miscellaneous-type" category, it has acquired a character of its own. It can be for sets/figures that represent the many facets of war, uniformed and otherwise.

So, K&C.....please stay the course.

Raymond:salute::

I don't think I have ever heard Andy say a range that is out has been exhausted. There are a plethora of AFV's troops etc that could add to this great range Does the range cover sept 1939 to roughly the end of 1940. Far from being exhausted the tip of the iceburg has just been touched.
must be More to come

Mitch, Andy did not say it was exhausted, he said he was resting it and would return to it in time, he obviously has his own favourite ranges and now and again some will indeed be rested whilst he does other stuff.

Would love to see a continuation of FOB with all sorts of armor. A new Mk.I, II, III all in gray. T-35's and 38's. All sorts of French tanks and AC's to do, too. -- Al

I'm hoping for something special for the Home front later this year. Plus everything Al said!:smile2::wink2:

Other not so well known fields of battle, would that include the japanese invasion of eastern india? Or the air war between vichy france and britain in the mideast where hundreds of planes were shot down. I know i am reaching but the opportunities are many
