Gentlemen, Figarti has in the past 12-18 months has released some fantastic Tiger 1 Models....Is it "too soon" to see a release of a Figarti King Tiger?????.....I would think that "It's Time" and past due for a Figarti King Tiger. I personally would prefer a winter version henschel turret (no zimmerit).....What are your preferences good fellows?:wink2:

KT would be nice, but overdue for a Panther too. Very curious to see what theater & model Panther they will eventually do. That IR model that is in Koblenz sings Figarti to me.

I would put my $.02 in for a Panther rather than King Tiger.

Would love to create a GrossDeutschland diorama of one of these pictures:

Been reading about the Nemmersdorf raid lately & was wondering just where was the GrossD when this went down? Well, it was stuck in Memel.

When Bagration hit in June, the GrossD was in Rumania as in Bradley's pics, and after it was finished up with Targul-Frumos down there, it was sent up to the Prussian-Lithuanian border in July/August to stop the Reds from advancing on to German soil, which it did. After that, it was sent up through Lithuania to establish overland contact with the now cut off Army Group North in the Courland (Kurland) pocket. The GrossD of course couldn't pull that off, & found itself cut off in the port town of Memel fighting for it's own existence. As they got pinned down in Memel, the Reds decided to do (as Gen. Patton would say) a recon in force sending three armies over the Lithuanian border into Prussia aimed at Gumbinnen October 17th. Two armies struck at a narrow front from Schirwindt-Eydtkau, but the Germans had this pretty well covered with the 1st ID, 103 Panzer Brigade, Hetzers, a VGr div & some StuG brigades. The Reds pushed them back to the Schlossberg-Ebenrode line and then threw in the towel & went after a softer target, Schlossbach to the south covered by unsupported Volksgrenadiers. Roll threw them they did, then they turned west, crossed the Rominte river at Grosswaltersdorf, then looked for their next western crossing at a small town called Nemmersdorf (marked by 'A') on the Angerapp which they took on the 21st. The Soviets revised their plan & instead of a push on Gumbinnen, they would instead roll on to Insterburg from Nemmersdorf IF they could get support on their left flank from a third attack launched against Goldap which got stopped cold.

That was important because the narrow Soviet supply train Nemmersdorf-Grosswaltersdorf-Schlossbach was getting hammered on in a pincer attack. The Hermann Goering & 5th Panzer Divisions were attacking south from Gumbinnen, and the Fuehrer Grenadier Brigade was attacking northwards, all aiming for Grosswaltersdorf. Facing encirlement & annihilation, the Reds called off the attack & pulled back from Nemmersdorf, a new front line was established running roughly from Schlossberg-Ebenrode-Grosswaltersdorf-Goldap. The Germans caught behind this line becoming the newest unhappy residents of the USSR. On the 22nd, infantry reoccupied Nemmersdorf from the west, and the 5th Panzer pulled in from the east on 23rd. Human carnage was found there, and at Brauersdorf (B) & Schulzenwalde (C).

Nemmersdorf became infamous because a) it was reoccupied & b) it was the first to be reoccupied. But one can only imagine the horrors that happened in the areas that were never reoccupied that Fall.
