I've not noticed much excitement (that I've seen) about Figarti's Winter German 150mm set. After 'missing the boat' on the winter '88 set, I just had to have this for my Bulge collection.
It'll be my first Figarti purchase.

I'm looking forward to this release....it seems like it will be a good one;)

Ive pre-ordered it and the Winter Bergepanzer IV cant wait to get them. The winter 88 and prime-mover are brilliant if you get a chance grab one.I hope they make a add on set for it like the long Tom more crew and something to tow it.

Saw this in London last month,it really has to be seen up close to appreciate it,very nice indeed.

very nice piece, figarti went for the 'clean' whitewash rather than the 'dirty' whitewash as shown on the prototype at the chicago show...picked it up at london show, the figures are in grey overcoats rather than the mixed camo and white camoflage of the 88 gun:)

Can't wait to see this set. TRULY wish I hadn't hesitated on the '88-DOH !

Just got my winter 150 today and got it out of the box during some conference calls. In my opinion, the gun is masterful in both design and in finish. The figures are alright-but I can live with that as the gun is the centerpiece.
Two observations:
1. I wish they'd included the 'towing wheels' assembly that was attached in the back of the gun (at least in pictures that I've seen) near the hitch point for towing. I found a Figarti desert Prime mover at original price and was hoping to winterize it to be this gun's prime mover, but I don't think that'll work now.
2. It looks just a tiny bit under-scale, but that's just one man's opinion.

But again, I truly like the set.

I'll try to post some pics tonite.

I got mine yesterday, great gun, the figures are not K&C good, but they are Figarti good if that makes sense. In other words relative to Figarti figures they are better than some.
Gary

Did the figures take a step back from the winter 88 or do they look like they are progressing. I thought the 88s figures were really done well.

The 150mm Gun is "very well done"....The figures are not as good....Faces are a little too "red" ....the figures on the 88mm gun are better in my opnion.

I echo your sentiments. I checked it out at Sierra this last weekend. The gun is spectacular, but the figures are subpar. I was really disappointed. I might still pick it up, but the thought of buying it and not using the figures that were intended for the set because they are so poorly done really holds me back.

BTW-Glad you made it to Sierra while you were in town, Mike and Myszka’s store is incredible.

As always best wishes to your son.

Thanks very much for the thoughtful words-we got our son home just before Christmas, this deployment is over and he's headed to EOD school for a year.
Should make for some GREAT July 4 fireworks displays in coming years-lol.

I agree, the new Sierra store is great!

As always great to do know that your son is doing well. All the best to him.

Yup, Sierra's place is toy soldier bliss!

Do you like the Figarti Bergpanzer?

Sadly, the bergepanzer wasn't in stock when I was there-but from the posts I've read, everyone sure seems to like it.

I picked up mine from Sierra over the weekend, I was disappointed with the figures, but the vehicle itself is amazing. The ‘chain’ that comes with it is so life-like and the weathering is well done.

Did you get either one of the 88's when thy were out?

Naw, I totally blew it on the winter '88 set (bad timing for hobby fund). There are some tropical ones out there at orig retail, but I don't collect AK. Wanted for BoB. If you got one, I'm so jealous-lol.

Ug! Sorry you missed out. The Bergepanzer would go great with you BoB stuff.

Have you seen the new Figarti Winter Germans?

Yeah, I may have to snag the Bergepanzer. I admired the new winter germans set, but after seeing the figs that came w/the 150mm set (they're ok, just not what I'd call great), I wasn't so sure.

I am still torn myself, I will look at them again at Sierra this weekend and make a final decision. I think I will have to do the same about the 150mm.

Do you regret the purchase of the 150 mm because of the figures? Or does it still set up nicely with your other BoB stuff?

No regrets at all-the gun is the centepiece and the figures are fine in a supporting role-and it all fits very well in a winter setting.
