The Figarti King Tiger would do well to look this good with the WB Fallschirmjager IMO.

Actually I would hope that the Figarti King Tiger would be light years better then this one (collectors showcase).....I was not impressed at all with the camo paint of the CS King Tiger and promptly returned it for refund......I personally am looking for and hoping for a much better King Tiger from Figarti if it ever comes along.....Based on the quality of their prior Tiger Tanks and recent Panthers if think that we can expect a better product.....However I will say and agree that the 1:28th scale CS Fallschrimjager German soldiers were excellent.... as well excellent are the WB 1:30th new versions.

The King Tiger in the photos is not the TCS King Tiger it is a true 1/30 scale and the Fallschirmjager are 60mm WB.

Whatever it is ????:rolleyes2:.....Sorry but it doesn't look good ^&grin^&grin^&grin.....I know that Figarti can do much better then that :salute::

Rather large for 1/32 considering the figures measure 60 to 62mm tall from top of base to top of head. The colors and camouflage are correct for a late war King Tiger IMO. The tracks, sprockets and wheels are more accurate than most 1/30 to 1/28 models. The tools, tow cables and shackels are individualy applied pieces; not molded on. I am sure Figarti could do better; especially if they used metal tracks and wheels like Eagle Design. Who knows Eagle Design may beat Figarti to market with a new King Tiger and that would be interesting.

Those figures seem to fit ok with that model but I'd still like to see photos of the 21st Century King Tiger next to the 1/32 FOV version, if anyone has both.

Or just take some pics of that 21st Century King Tiger next to the Figarti Steel Wheeled Tiger I or Figarti Panther. That is a comparison I would much rather see. To me it looks too small with the new Britain's FJ figures, but you never can tell as it's an oblique angle picture taken from slightly above.

Since Katana repeatedly brings this King Tiger up as so perfectly scaled I can't understand why he doesn't just post some pics of it next to known quantity models to convince the naysayers among us.

If you need any clarification on the size of a King Tiger next to a person, then here's some pic's of me standing next to the real deal! FYI, I'm 84kg and about 173cm (5 foot 8 inches) tall or the last time I checked anyway..:rolleyes2:^&grin

The pic's by the way were taken at the Deutsches Panzermuseum in Munster Ortze, Germany.

Photo angles are always an issue. The measurements of the KT in the photo are: Hull Length 9.1" Width 4.7" Height 3.9" The actual KT is: Hull Length 252" Width147" Height 121" per Doyle and Jentz.

Thanks Tom for the excellent reference photos of you next to the KT. I think if you were wearing combat boots and a helmet your height relative to the KT would be about that of the WB figures next to the model.

Thanks For posting the Pics Tom. I am jealous. Always great to see the real thing.

Measurements of the model divided into the size of the actual King Tiger provided by Doyle and Jentz gives the models scale. I have provided the measurements both actual and of the model. The result is 1/30 scale.

I would like to know what the measurements of the FOV King Tiger is too; as I do not have one.

I have the measurements of the K&C and TCS King Tigers. The K&C porsche KT WS067 is 1/30. The K&C KT Henschel BBG016 is 1/27 and the TCS KT Henschel/Porsche is 1/28. The measurements of the FOV KT that I was given by a reliable source indicates it is 1/32.
The Hull Length is 8" the Width is 4.5" and the Height is 3.75" A number of FOV tanks are oversize but unfortunatly the KT is not one of them. The FOV Jagdtiger is overscale.

No it a 1/32 scale 21st Century tank !:rolleyes2:

Myself and others have measured the same tanks as you in the past and we have arrived at drastically different numbers and conclusions. I take your measurements with a grain of salt, which is my I'd like to see a picture of this next to a Figarti Tiger I or Panther.

For example, you state above that the K&C BBG016 Henschel King Tiger is 1/27 and the Collectors Showcase King Tiger is 1/28. I've owned both at the same time and did a comparison thread on them. The Collectors Showcase model measures larger in every respect than the K&C King Tiger, yet you state the K&C model is a larger scale. How is that possible?

That, among other similarly erroneous past proclamations, is where my skepticism of your measurements comes from.

Yes, as I've posted in the past, you really can't depend upon dimensions or scales quoted by other members. It's been proven that models have been measured incorrectly, photographs are too variable and inaccurate references are promoted as correct. Long ago I decided to display what I think looks accurate to me.

Thanks Wayne, I think we're about the same scale ^&grin

I think you meant my name Matt but i'll take your thanks anyway! ^&grin

Thanks for this photo which should remind us how huge those tanks are!

No worries fellas, happy to post and Kat, I was thinking of asking the museum blokes if I could borrow one of there Jerry helmets and also jump up into the KT commanders hatch but I think they would have told me to leave! ^&grin

What scale in your expert opinion is the K&C BBG016 and the WS067. I would also appreciate your opinion of the scale of the TCS King Tiger.

I doubt my measurement error using a Digital Caliper is significant and my source data for the actual dimensions of the King Tiger is Jentz and Doyle. Do you question the accuracy of their data? Please provide your data and its source if you consider Jentz and Doyle to be in error.

I can measure my Minichamps King Tiger and come up with 1/35 scale every time. I use the same instruments and methodology in measuring any model. Polystone models use soft tooling and the dimensions can vary from the start to the end of a production run. Errors in size are inherant in the process. Diecast Metal and Polystyrene use Tool Steel molds or Chrome plated Aluminum molds and are thus more dimensionaly stable.

Well, for one thing the the K&C BBG016 is smaller than the TCS King Tiger, so your digital calipers missed something there.

The above is just nonsense. I never accused Jentz/Doyle of being inaccurrate, just your measurements. Kind of like the one where you asserted the First Legion Panzer IV was 1/32, then Matt from FL came on with photo of the actual digital caliper measurement and it was spot on for 1/30.

Why not just post a picture of this 21st Century King Tiger next to the Figarti Steel Wheeled Tiger I that you also own? The wheels should be the exact same size and the deck height, overall height, and width comparison would be easy to see. Why the continuous refusal?

I sleep much easier very night knowing there is a bunch of truly dedicated blokes out there with their nuclear powered digital callipers, Star Trek slide rules and sheer determination to measure very scale aspect of very model tank, vehicle and figure known to man. Mr Spook would be proud, I thank you to as I now get a sound sleep very night...............:wink2:
